The very criteria for this list combined with KD's selections make my head hurt. So it's the top 5, not based on current form but overall ability. Yet Given doesn't make the top 5 keepers whereas Foster and even VDS do. Richards is the best right back in the prem apparently despite playing CB for his club. Gary Neville's in there too, christ knows if he can even move at present, no doubt over time he's been great so surely Andy Cole, still on the books at the mackems should be in the top 5 strikers...oh wait he isn't. Centre backs see Ledley King sandwich between players who generally rarely miss a game, yes King is good when fit but Gallas is surely better, I'd even rate the Woodgate more than him and he's not exactly captain fitness. There aren't many left backs about so there's not much to say there.
Moving into midfield and somehow perennial 20 goal a season man Frank Lampard misses out, yes he scores some flukey deflected goals but you don't accidentally get so many goals from midfield. Winger's you could argue about the order of some of them but it woul be even more pedantic than the rest of this post. Is Arteta the best left midfielder in the Prem? I thought he was used down the right, but I'm not sure so won't comment.
The strikers...well Berbatov in second...above Rooney....and Torres...
