  1. Main problem is if we go out next Thursday someone will point out this thread and Deep will be hung from the Tyne Bridge by his knackers.
  2. Thought you lot were brilliant last night, I was in the gallowgate middle tier (row A) and my mate started waving at you lot at half time I thought he was off his tits, but he says someone was waving at him. I think he was off his tits like. Anyway I thought you led the crowd last night, you made noise from the off and the early goals just kept it going, it was immense.
  3. I've never heard so many people moan at the same time as when Carr was put in by Duff and he forgot the ball. And then stood about looking depressed about it
  4. Let me refer you to my first post on the matter: Here you see I asked the question if the last attack rule still existed. When West Ham still had the ball in the final 3rd, that to me is still an attack. Once Spurs came away with it, that is a different attack. Now before you go off on one again, I think the ref did right playing on. Several hours ago (it seems) I said that the ref made a decision in your favour by not blowing for full time when you nicked the ball off Zamora because like I say, you counter attacking is a different attack. Nyt has since pointed out that last attack is alive until the ball is dead, answering the question. I can't believe this discussion is still going on.
  5. I love how you've ignored the fact that I agreed with you that it was right to be played on. All I'm saying is a few years ago there was a rule called last attack, and thus when West Ham got the corner it was LAST ATTACK and so as soon as they lost the ball that would have been it. However: a) I don't know if that rule still exists and b) It would have been ridiculous if the ref had blown for full time when you had 4 on 1 in your favour, like I stated quite a while ago. Please learn to read.
  6. Am I on the ship of...LOST SOULS? It was to their advantage but surely once it had been cleared that was full time, or was "last attack" abolished some time ago? Anyway in my opinion he was right to play it on, but to the letter of the law a referee's decision favoured you.
  7. Shouldn't have turned off at half time then
  8. Yeah I mean playing over the added time on Sunday was a disgrace
  9. Hmm, 2 hours ago called they want their goal back
  10. I've just got back, the first half an hour was easily the greatest half an hour of the season at St. James' this season. The Toon Ultras led the whole stadium in making noise and the goals were flying in but Alkmaar always looked likely to create something, the guy behind me raised the point when it was 4-1 that he was surprised Alkmaar were still attacking, they just seemed to take it all in their stride and kept going. Pen seemed harsh and nobody in the stadium was happy with the decision it seemed but nevermind. Also Dyer seemed knackered after an hour so we were pretty sure Milner would replace him, but off went the Sib and any hopes of keeping the ball disappeared because it was hoofed to Milner everytime and it just kept coming back at us. Martins was unlucky with his chance for the 5th he went for the megs and got it marginally wrong, it hit the inside of the keeper's leg. I have no doubt Alkmaar will score at least twice over there I think the only question is can we match that..
  11. I don't think he's good enough but: 1) He's always looked better without Shearer alongside him 2) He has looked good under Roeder, but then everybody did at the tail end of last season 3) He's been playing with a knackered hip for at least a year, so let's see how he goes now that it's "fixed"
  12. Because he's not a regular now when everybody is fit?

Boro equalise Although I'd like to see it go to extra time and they end up knackered and dissapointed

    Owen

Here's an extra dimension for you all to ponder. It's the middle of April, we've just booked a UEFA cup final berth. Owen has returned to full training and although it would be a risk to bring him back, having Michael Owen in the UEFA cup final would be tremendous. Do you play him from the bench in the remaining league fixtures so he has some fitness for the final or do you stick to your guns of keeping him till next season?

KITSON! OMG THEY'RE BACK IN IT!!!
  18. If we get to the Quarters and ITV take up coverage, will they choose us or Spurs? (assuming Spurs get there too) Oh and it'll be Matt Smith on ITV with those world beaters Robbie Earle and Andy Townsend..yay.

    Penalty Taking

It'll still be Nobby when the pressures on, you could tell Martins was getting more and more frustrated so he asked to take it to get his goal/get the Everton one out of his mind in a no-pressure situation. No harm done.
  20. Derby away about 7 years ago, Barton already on the pitch, stadium announcer announces that Barton is coming on, bringing about: "There's only 2 Warren Barton's!"
