  1. To be honest once I read it I thought of the Aspen episode of South Park at the ski resort where they won't led the parents ski till they've purchased time shares in a condo...
  2. Got a letter from NUFC this morning, more precisely Peter Beardsley inviting me and a guest to tour the stadium for free as long as I listen to a 20 minute presentation about a Spanish condo or something. There's also a "well known" Sky Sports presenter on each of the days, the first one is Clare Tomlinson and the second one is JEFF STELLING! Did anybody else get this letter or was I genuinely picked at random?

    ITV - shite

The main thing that stood out for me was that when we were on Five, it was all about us, they wanted us to win and made a big deal about following Newcastle all the way from the earlier stages. The previous ngiht ITV spent 2 hours saying how great Spurs were, whereas last night they spent the whole build up praising AZ and how great they were, I felt like I was watching it on dutch TV. And yes, I did the whistle thing too
  4. Trolley goes past with bottles of fanta and lilt on He tells a light heared story about Jim Magilton DAVID PLEAT ON A PLANE, PLEAT ON A PLANE
  5. Osasuna lead. Maybe activescores know something we don't? Maybe it's like wrestling and scripted and activescores read the spoilers?
  6. Active scores on form tonight... http://img232.imageshack.us/img232/4924/activescorests5.th.jpg Are any of those right?
  7. Leverkusen 3 (4) - 0 (2) Lens couple of mins to go. Looks like Leverkusen are through to the last 8. Otherg ames include Spurs/Braga and Osasuna/Rangers and Werder/Vigo. In the premiership there's Villa/Arsenal and Man City/Chelsea.
  8. "When Duff returns, we'll be unstoppable" Can't believe Oba said that..
  9. Yep glad Man Utd/Chels were kept apart. Having said that, we need Chelsea to win at WHL first..
  10. It's Roeder so we all know he likes to surprise us, he might put Milner on the right and Emre on the left, leave Butt and Parker in the middle and play Dyer off Martins. He could do anything really, Roeder with options is terrifying. I think Sibi has to play because any idiot could see he was the link between defence and attack and once he'd gone off keeping the ball in the final third just didn't happen.
  11. Look at our away European games: 3-0 away at Lillestrom 1-0 away at Ventspils 1-0 away at Talinn 1-0 away at Palermo 0-0 away at Frankfurt 3-1 away at Zulte We don't score many but we concede less. However, if you consider the only side who come even close to matching Alkmaar is Palermo, we only kept them out through a great keeper display, we weren't exactly water tight at the back so those stats are largely redundant.
  12. If he leaves Butt out when we're protecting a lead he's an idiot
  13. I'm sure Justin Lockwood (former Metro Radio commentator for Newcastle) said we tried to get Yakubu but didn't meet the asking price, that was a few days after Bellamy went on loan to Celtic.
  14. Main problem is if we go out next Thursday someone will point out this thread and Deep will be hung from the Tyne Bridge by his knackers.
  15. Thought you lot were brilliant last night, I was in the gallowgate middle tier (row A) and my mate started waving at you lot at half time I thought he was off his tits, but he says someone was waving at him. I think he was off his tits like. Anyway I thought you led the crowd last night, you made noise from the off and the early goals just kept it going, it was immense.
  16. I've never heard so many people moan at the same time as when Carr was put in by Duff and he forgot the ball. And then stood about looking depressed about it
  17. Let me refer you to my first post on the matter: Here you see I asked the question if the last attack rule still existed. When West Ham still had the ball in the final 3rd, that to me is still an attack. Once Spurs came away with it, that is a different attack. Now before you go off on one again, I think the ref did right playing on. Several hours ago (it seems) I said that the ref made a decision in your favour by not blowing for full time when you nicked the ball off Zamora because like I say, you counter attacking is a different attack. Nyt has since pointed out that last attack is alive until the ball is dead, answering the question. I can't believe this discussion is still going on.
  18. I love how you've ignored the fact that I agreed with you that it was right to be played on. All I'm saying is a few years ago there was a rule called last attack, and thus when West Ham got the corner it was LAST ATTACK and so as soon as they lost the ball that would have been it. However: a) I don't know if that rule still exists and b) It would have been ridiculous if the ref had blown for full time when you had 4 on 1 in your favour, like I stated quite a while ago. Please learn to read.
  19. Am I on the ship of...LOST SOULS? It was to their advantage but surely once it had been cleared that was full time, or was "last attack" abolished some time ago? Anyway in my opinion he was right to play it on, but to the letter of the law a referee's decision favoured you.
  20. Shouldn't have turned off at half time then
