What's 7-8m euros? 6m pounds? About what Enrique went for?
-
And what do we do with the money? It's fucking useless selling him. We need him and Cabaye in the middle to push on. We don't need to sell anyone. We need to buy a CB, RB and a striker, and go for 4th. Fuck this selling rubbish.

Yeah. It was like that against Fulham early this season when we kept possession for 5 minutes straight without putting in a cross. The crowd got restless and some idiot just lumped the ball up and conceded possession. Hopefully this changes because being a team that can keep possession is pretty much the only way we'll be a consistently good team; counter-attacking will only get us so far.
-
Yup. We're so close but these clowns are going to piss it away.
-
His first touch is surprisingly brilliant. I don't think he's given the ball away with his first touch at all.
-
Only four players in the squad who could score the goal he did last night. Just start him behind Ba and let him do his thing.
-
Not when they're two points behind 4th with two easy games coming up. Hopefully they start falling apart on the pitch soon.

As if other players don't lose the ball There's probably only one player in world football who doesn't lose the ball: Xavi. The rest do.

I can't see why he's stuck with the system and Personnel as the wheels were always going to come off the way that we were going. He should have been proactive instead of waiting until his hand was forced before changing anything. Even last night he was looking lost on the touchline and only brought on Ben Arfa when the crowd started chanting his name and by doing so having a go at Pardew. In theory I suppose you're right, ideally he would have acted earlier. But at the same time we had three almost impossible games and then lost most of our defence for the next couple, it's been a tough time for other reasons than Pardew's errors. Hopefuly he'll now realise that the likes of Santon and Ben Arfa must be fixtures in the team, and that he needs to find a way to stop us playing such direct passes all the time. Cabaye's return should help with that too. one of the things has to be movement from the wide players. there is no reason why they can't look for space inside, or alongside or dare i say it, beyond the forward(s). even if they don't get the ball they drag the oppo creating gaps elsewhere. what we currently have is 2 wide players who's lack of movement constricts our game. Everything in our game seems to be about prioritizing our shape while defending, which means that these wide players can't really drift when we attack because they won't be able to get back into their positions quickly enough if we lose the ball. We need players to cover for each other and to show more experience in defence, and inventiveness and creativity in attack. And we need Pardew to not be so conservative in his game plan.

Bolton Wanderers v Newcastle United (26/12/11, 3pm)
Taylor Swift replied to Mr. Snrub's topic in Football
2-1 win. They're shite, man. Cabaye and Tiote back in the middle together will be a massive difference. They have no pace up front, only on their wings, and even then Petrov and Davies aren't the quickest. Reo-Coker has had a decent season but I see us bossing possession throughout and with Ba on form, we'll score if we have the right lineup (which means Ben Arfa starting). -
That's the other side of the coin: beyond what the words Suarez used may mean, there's the question of what's racist, which is *very* dependent on culture. What would be perceived in hyper-sensitive Britain as racist would not be in other cultures less sensitive to racism. And then there's the differing sensitivity to perceived racism against different races: in the UK, people are very sensitive to racism against blacks but not against, say, Albanians because there are a lot of blacks but few Albanians. A few weeks ago, an extremely liberal, pro-immigrant German lass who spends all her time helping kids from immigrant families, who would never dream of saying anything anti-Turkish, told me that "laying an Obama in the White House" is slang for having a shit (there are very few black people in Germany, and most racism is directed against Turks, Arabs and East Europeans). ------------------- With regards to the FA's ruling: it's a complete cop-out. They've found him guilty of indecent/abusive behaviour and punished him for racism. An 8 match ban is ridiculous for what they've found him guilty of. FFS, Rooney got a 2-game ban for running up to the TV camera and shouting "fuck off" into it. They should have either given him a punishment typical of the violation they found him guilty of or had the balls to label him a racist along with clearly you've-been-found-guilty-of-racism ban they handed him. Whilst I agree with the first half of your post that's not necessarily the point. It may well be inoffensive in his culture but there are ramifications beyond that - he's been in Europe for some time by now and as such must realise that it's extremely offensive to refer to people in such a manner. He's not a complete idiot, surely he knew what he was doing and as such theoretically it could still be construed as racist? I'm just theorising mind, don't know the ins and outs of the case. Plus it's funny as fuck he's been banned for 8 games. Or maybe not. It seems bizarre that this could have been the first time he'd said such things in four years. Also, seeing as there were no other witnesses, why did Suarez freely admit he'd said "negrito"? If he had believed it was racist, surely he'd have just denied it. More likely, he wasn't aware of how hypersensitive the UK is to perceived racism. hypersensitive. You mean civilized and responsive, yes? Or would you rather the UK be like the Spaniards and make monkey chants at black players or like the Russians who throw bananas at them instead?

van Persie getting booked for a dive  That's probably the clearest penalty you'll see this year.

Shearer, Scholes, Henry or Giggs. -
I was brilliant, II will be many people's favorite, III will be misunderstood at first but IV will be a classic. That is KK with us

I don't really rate him. I reckon Abeid and Vukcic will turn out to be better. Vukcic already showed some nice touches in the ten minutes he was on against Swansea. I think he has a bright future. -

When Abeid/Vukcic plays well today and we win, both of which I'm confident of, Gosling won't start a match in the Premiership for us for a long time, which will be a very good thing. -
van Persie wouldn't get a game for us because he can't get his head on those diagonal balls that Sammy is good at launching.

Christ almighty. What has the world of football come to when players like Ben Arfa don't get a game because they don't contribute enough defensively? What in the fuck happened to being adventurous, fun, exciting? What happened to giving it a go? What happened to playing to win? We have an excellent player on our hands who will help the team a lot but we're persisting with shite like Obertan because they run around and do fuck all. If this is really the reason that Ben Arfa isn't getting games then Pardew's an idiot. I'm sorry, but it's true. He's more like Souness than SBR if this is true. We're actually a team which needs to score the first goal. When we do, we look so much more comfortable. When we concede and the other team drops back, we struggle to create chances, which is why players like Ben Arfa need to be played from the start.
