Fuck yeah!
-
Oh my god!
-
No, they're not. They're just good in Europe.
-
Eh? Hamburger reference is my guess.
-
He doesn't seem to have a specific skill but he just does 'things' imo. He's a sort of minimal-fuss guy that every good team needs at times. Odds on a Gerrard stunner to send things into extra-time?
-
KD, I think you're a good poster but discussing Spurs' tactics and signings on a Newcastle forum is just asking for trouble.
-
You mean he was the only one on the Barca team willing to make something happen? Up against 2-4 defenders everytime he received the ball (even at awkward heights) and lost it only once. The way the ball sticks to his feet reminds me of the way it used to stick to Zidane's boots. It was a majestic performance from him. And yes, I do have a sore dick. He's awesome, man

You know, even now, an hour after the game, I think that was a pantheon performance from Messi. He was a goal away from probably making it into my top 3 individual performances ever. Considering the circumstances, the team he was playing against, the pressure, and all that jazz, he was simply amazing. I've run out of superlatives to describe him with. The whole match was actually excellent. This was what should have been served up in the first leg. It reminded me why I love football
-
What the fuck? He gave away the ball for the goal and was skimmed by almost everyone he tried to mark (Ronaldo and Evra especially).
-
Fuck. Tevez was awesome, he was everywhere tonight. What a player. Park was really good as well, impressed me a lot. But I think the biggest praise has to go to Lionel Messi. What a fucking player. I couldn't keep count of how many times he just simply schooled Man Utd's defence, skipping past any player with such ease. Wow. That was an absolutely brilliant performance from him, too bad his attacking teammates couldn't raise their games.

No Vidic, no Rooney. Come on Barca!

Sahin's a Turkish whiz-kid playing for Dortmund. Last I saw was a couple of years ago; looked quite fragile but was good on the ball.

I'll take Lee at £1m. Backup for Enrique and Beye.
-
Sven will stay if he's smart and ride out this storm. Thaksin will give him a lot of money sooner rather than later.

How did this thread get to 4 pages?
-
There isn't really a thread on it atm, so I thought I'd start one. Come on Chelsea Anyway, here's an interesting take on Saturday's events.

Upwards of £5m and they can have him. He's been around the ages but never seems to get any better. First team football hasn't really brought him on at all this season. A move to Villa would be a decent deal all round. No way man. I think he has a future in the formation we're currently playing in. I've always thought that he could be a decent central midfielder because he gets up and down well, has a decent first touch and keeps hold of possession. I actually see him as an upgrade on Geremi but because Geremi's done well recently, Milner hasn't had a look-in. Anyway, I think our squad is quite small, so keeping players like Milner around will prevent us from ending up in a situation where we have to send on a youngster (like Lua Lua) to change a game.
-
Why is Gerrard in there?
-
Dunne, Huntelaar, Diego, Lennon and someone like Veloso. That'd be the perfect transfers for our squad atm, and all of them are realistic imo.
-
I'd be happy with £5m. For a 28 year old Premiership proven defender just peaking, I'd say it's actually pretty cheap if you consider how much other defenders of his ilk would be going for. We could sign him to a 4-5 year deal and he'll hopefully become the beginning of our new spine.

Will find it even harder against Drogba Who doesn't though?

Probably the funniest thing i've ever seen at a match

This thread's really gone too far. I don't think it was racist at all, maybe just a bit stupid by Jamie. I thought the story was funny though and laughed. -
Spurs will move above us now because we'll end up next season sat around 60 (no European football and thus losing the 24.7 we gained 5 years ago).

Great thread -
11 goals in 17 games for Sao Paulo The Brazilian league is quite different from the Premiership. Romario scored goals there until he was 42! Teddy Sheringham was scoring in the Premiership when he was 41 Are we really going to have a debate about the quality of the Premiership vs the quality of the Brazilian league?
