  1. Man Utd should be the favourites by the way. What's this nonsense about Chelsea having big game players? What happened to them in the League Cup final against Spurs? Man Utd have a load of big game players (Scholes, Tevez, Ferdinand immediately come to mind) and they seem to have a real winning mentality. They also tend to dominate possession and their defence can handle Drogba, especially if Vidic is back, so I'd say it's theirs to lose. I'm still struggling to think of a way in which Ferreira will handle Rooney/Ronaldo/Tevez/whoever's roaming the left flank, so unless they play Essien there, they're fucked. And if the play Essien there, they'll be fucked in the center of the park! The only way I see Chelsea winning it is if they try for a replay of last year's FA Cup final. If the game's open, Man Utd will win it.
  2. 2-1 to Chelsea is my prediction and what I'm hoping for as well.
  3. Now I can actually support a team in the final.
  4. Still a lot of time for Liverpool to score again.
  5. No, they're not. They're just good in Europe.
  6. Eh? Hamburger reference is my guess.
  7. He doesn't seem to have a specific skill but he just does 'things' imo. He's a sort of minimal-fuss guy that every good team needs at times. Odds on a Gerrard stunner to send things into extra-time?
  8. KD, I think you're a good poster but discussing Spurs' tactics and signings on a Newcastle forum is just asking for trouble.
  9. You mean he was the only one on the Barca team willing to make something happen? Up against 2-4 defenders everytime he received the ball (even at awkward heights) and lost it only once. The way the ball sticks to his feet reminds me of the way it used to stick to Zidane's boots. It was a majestic performance from him. And yes, I do have a sore dick. He's awesome, man
  10. You know, even now, an hour after the game, I think that was a pantheon performance from Messi. He was a goal away from probably making it into my top 3 individual performances ever. Considering the circumstances, the team he was playing against, the pressure, and all that jazz, he was simply amazing. I've run out of superlatives to describe him with. The whole match was actually excellent. This was what should have been served up in the first leg. It reminded me why I love football
  11. What the fuck? He gave away the ball for the goal and was skimmed by almost everyone he tried to mark (Ronaldo and Evra especially).
  12. Fuck. Tevez was awesome, he was everywhere tonight. What a player. Park was really good as well, impressed me a lot. But I think the biggest praise has to go to Lionel Messi. What a fucking player. I couldn't keep count of how many times he just simply schooled Man Utd's defence, skipping past any player with such ease. Wow. That was an absolutely brilliant performance from him, too bad his attacking teammates couldn't raise their games.
  13. Sahin's a Turkish whiz-kid playing for Dortmund. Last I saw was a couple of years ago; looked quite fragile but was good on the ball.
  14. I'll take Lee at £1m. Backup for Enrique and Beye.
  15. Sven will stay if he's smart and ride out this storm. Thaksin will give him a lot of money sooner rather than later.
  16. How did this thread get to 4 pages?
  17. There isn't really a thread on it atm, so I thought I'd start one. Come on Chelsea Anyway, here's an interesting take on Saturday's events.
  18. Upwards of £5m and they can have him. He's been around the ages but never seems to get any better. First team football hasn't really brought him on at all this season. A move to Villa would be a decent deal all round. No way man. I think he has a future in the formation we're currently playing in. I've always thought that he could be a decent central midfielder because he gets up and down well, has a decent first touch and keeps hold of possession. I actually see him as an upgrade on Geremi but because Geremi's done well recently, Milner hasn't had a look-in. Anyway, I think our squad is quite small, so keeping players like Milner around will prevent us from ending up in a situation where we have to send on a youngster (like Lua Lua) to change a game.
