    Alan Pardew

We should've had Martinez, and many on here (including you) are being proven wrong about him. Chill out. Everton have been playing like this for years.
  2. How can a newcastle fan even mention that 12 point thing as if it was legitimately 12 points? It was 9 points with them having a game in hand, we won our match first so it was 12 points with them having two games in hand. It's normal media exaggeration to say it was 12 points.
  3. It was coming. They've been dominant this half.

    Paul Dummett

I haven't seen Dummett yet, how fast is he? Compared to Santon and Debuchy.
  5. Make your own fucking decisions. You're a big boy. It's always good to get other people's perspective.
  6. Soldado out, Rooney in and becomes captain? What do yous think?
  7. wat Van Persie didn't play so your substitute came into the team instead. It's been that way for like 9 years.
  8. Thank fuck I trusted my brain and made Ozil captain instead of Hatem.
  9. Have Ozil captain and Mertesacker in the team. Was 15th at the start of today, expect to move up quite a bit now.

    Alan Pardew

    I'm glad I missed this.
  11. For real? That's awesome. He ripped us to shreds last year.
  12. Coutinho and Silva gone. Barkley and Ozil coming in. That leaves me about £3m which I'll use to bring in another top midfielder for Lallana. Basically it's two new expensice midfielders for Coutinho and Silva, and Barkley for Lallana, but done over two weeks because I don't want to lose four points.
  13. Yeah, Coutinho and Hazard/Silva have fucked me hard. I've been getting points for the rest of my squad but this £18m has produced jack. Thank fuck my strikers have combined for 10 goals in the first four weeks or else I'd be fucked.

    Alan Pardew

Haha. Ronaldo has this spot on. Jonas is a good professional, someone that younger players can admire and look up to but as a footballer, he is as done as you can get. He should only he used as a human victory cigar at this point.
  15. For me, the three midfielders that defined the past ten years were Lampard, Scholes and Gerrard. So yeah, I think there was a time when we didn't have this many good attacking midfielders in this league. We've had a 180 degree turnaround in that respect. Arsenal always had a bevy of midfielders but never two good true attacking midfielders since Pires was here. Chelsea had some good wingers but they won more because of Lampard and Drogba than they did because of Robben or Duff or J Cole. Man Utd of course have been brilliant but again their dominance is down to Ronaldo, Rooney, van Persie, Scholes, Giggs etc with nary a true attacking midfielder in sight. The talent level of this current crop, IMO, hasn't been seen in the league for a long time. On a related note, I think we're going through a severe talent drought for strikers in this league in comparison to other leagues.
  16. I forgot about Mata, fuck. Yeah, him too. Exceptional player. I don't think we've ever seen this good a crop come before. I want to include Kagawa too but he hasn't played enough for me.
  17. Watching the games this past weekend, I couldn't help but notice the abundance of young, talented attacking midfielders playing in the league. If you go team by team, you could pick out some outstanding names and as a collection of talent around the league, I think this current crop is one of the best ever crop of attacking midfielders that we've ever seen in the league. The first name that comes to mind for me is of course our own Hatem. I honestly think that technically he's one of the best in the league and I know I've been harping on about this for a couple of years already, but his combination of technique and mental strength means that there aren't many players in the league that I'd willingly swap him for. Then you look at Chelsea, the two prominent names are Oscar and Hazard; both young, quick, have excellent technique and still far from fulfilling their potential. Schurrle is another one to watch. Liverpool of course have Coutinho, who has ripped apart so many defences in just six months here. This boy is also destined for big things. City have Silva, whose track record speaks for itself. Spurs have a bunch of new names but the two that comes to mind are Eriksen and Lamela; both young, full of pace and have great technique. Arsenal have two of their own as well: Cazorla and of course, one of the best of the bunch, Ozil. Everton also have one of the most promising English players for many years: Ross Barkley, who for me looks perfect for the league. So what do you think? What other names belong here? Is this a collection of talented attacking midfielders that we'll only see once every many, many years?
