  1. Definitely, there's no use adding a few more very good players to an already filled team. They needed a big time striker and and another top class player or two and it just didn't work out. quite - theye are where we were in the 'keeping our powder dry' summer. They need 2 or 3 top players per year to gradually. More of the same (ie) Bowyer in our case, wouldn't see them make much progress.
  2. With what, A stupid idiot hurling a banner of Cockney Mafia out in the middle of the match. That bloody clown. The circumstances couldn't be any more different (disclaimer - unless we sell a key player the morra)
  3. Nonsense. The opposite in fact. we have had a decent start and so much of the pressure has dissapated. Ironically it makes it more likely that we'll win.
  4. It's just speculation at this stage. We're aware of it
  5. The problem is that they need the really big names to take them to the next level. They already have decent squad.
  6. Sounds like CH really wanted him -even after signing HBA. The comments on Friday and the semingly inside line that Douglas had for the Sunday Ronnie. Crouch and Defoe's injuries might have something to do with it?
  7. Let's just watch the football and enjoy it.
  8. Doing well is Hughton - really pleased with him. 36 more points to go!

    aston villa

If your last 2 performances are to go by you wont. If the two before that are anything to go by, we certainly will. Two iffy performances in a row? It's hardly Leeds United is it. End of the day, we got tonked by you, played well against Rapid for 70 minutes then imploded. To read some of the media coverage, you'd think we'd gone into freefall. It isn't even September. The football media in this country truly are a pack of mongs. Two week break coming up. Get the manager sorted in that spell and get the right man in, and we'll be more than OK. And as for the "well, they'll probably have to appoint Les Reed" nonsense, this is a club which has finished sixth for the last three seasons, and has had a benevolent, munificent billionaire owner, widely regarded as amongst the best in the league. We've got some very good players, and a very good set up. Like I said, it's hardly meltdown. All well and good, but MON obviously thought that he wasn't benevolent or munificent enough. There may be less optimistic times ahead. Hardly Leeds, but a bit of a come down, non?

Doesnt quite match the hype does it? Not that stats are a reliable guide to a players worth. Indeed, stats on assists/ goals don't tell you the full story in terms of the space and opportunities createed for others
  11. Why would he be 'guaranteed' any more football here than at Villa? because sholas our backup striker Villa have Heskey. fair point but they also have carew and agbonlahor who would be first choice when fit id say They have Young at present too
  12. Perch is no kind of cover. Especially as he is our current starting RB.
  13. Such as? Edit- Perch is Hughton's cover for LB- Not sure I'm no scout. Someone in the Jlloyd Samuel mould
  14. An experienced utility defender who can play left back would be very useful. We're in trouble in Jose gets injured (as he periodically does)
  15. He's got a f***ing nerve. Joey Barton has been a saint today in comparison to how he was targetted. f***ing disgusting. Barton was great for keeping his composer. I am still shocked how Wolves still had 11 men at the end of the game. He did well, you'd think he would get his own Bach. Could have easily started Chopin them down in retaliation. very, very good
  16. He genuinely didn't make a save today. he did look a bit quicker off his line though.

Gotta be Nolan in my eyes Depends who is on form and the opposition. It's all about having options and the team not picking itself

    Egidio Arévalo

I'm assuming that is a piss take
  19. There were at least 3 times whne they went right through Barton - it was like assault at times and he got very little protection
  20. I agree he did play well - gave us a really good outlet
  21. Young, you spacker. Shola is perpetually referred to as young and laden with potential despite his advancing years. He has scored goals pretty consistently in the top 2 tiers of English football. He is on a contract that reputedly runs into tens of thousands of pounds a week. Accrington Stanley are skint, play in the 4th tier and survive on the most meagre budget in the English Football league. Now J01, have a little think about whether my suggestion was serious or ironic. Nuanced or literal. Feel free to use a dictionary and take your time.
  22. wonder where he'll go on loan
  23. From Ryder's twitter Accrington Stanley claim they are waiting to hear on a loan bid for a young NUFC striker... about 3 hours ago via web Could be Shola
