This is the most unhinged thread on the forum and that’s quite an achievement at the minute!

Didn't he just sign a 2 year contract extension?

Newcastle United vs AC Milan - 13/12/23 @ 20:00 (TNT Sports)

They definitely didn't look comically bad, playing one of the top youth teams in Europe and looked competitive -
Can watch the u19 game live on the UEFA Youth League website https://www.uefa.com/uefayouthleague/ 1-0 down at HT due to goal keeping error, but have been relatively competitive. Sanusi looks to be a real handful on LW, very skillful and quick, both the CB look solid too.

He’s clearly got talent whilst on the ball, but he seems to be lacking off it. He has been caught being too tight and getting done by one-twos around him. He was also suspect in one on ones and doesn’t seem that positionally disciplined, which I suspect he doesn’t have the licence to be. I think for that reason Howe doesn’t fully trust him yet, but he probably expects to be able to coach that side of his game

Pretty damning on our u21s if none of them can get on the bench for the Wolves game with 2 keepers or are likely to play any real part in this game. It seems we have some decent u19/18s, so hopefully some of them can make the step up in a few years. -
Thought he looked good second half too. Some absolutely embarrassing reactionary comments in this thread. Should probably be asking why after a formation change they were able to walk down the full left hand side and cross it to the edge of the box unchallenged. Not blaming the only player who actually got out to try and make the block
-
Most of them are eligible, can only assume it's because they're deemed too young at 14-16year olds
-
Travis Hernes was a new signing in the summer, think he played for the u21 already. I think most of the others are a bit younger and are in the 14-16 age bracket. We were supposed to have signed the Irish striker from Inter, but seems to have gone quiet on that one
-
They've announced the squad on the UEFA site https://www.uefa.com/uefayouthleague/clubs/2612815--newcastle-united-fc-youth/squad/
-
Is there not a transfer deadline today for youth players? How can we still sign 3 more of them
-
I assume they didn’t want to show ASM out for the documentary, even if it was planned. Interesting that no Manquillo, even though he was originally given a squad number
-
Can't believe they showed our full transfer window target positions and Amazon leaked it two weeks ago Hopefully we can still get the RCB in tomorrow!
-
He only signed a 4 year deal, so we’d have to only recoup half his fee next season to be even. Then we’d still have his wages as FFP savings. I agree though reported 100k seems dubiously high, but it’s widely reported
-
Makes complete sense to remove a third choice specialised left back on 100k/week. It would massively benefit us on FFP if we could get someone to pay the majority of his wages this season, getting him league games/exposure and sell next season
-
Juventus deal was reportedly around £45m/y so that would put us on a similar level. Seems likely then that we will get elite tier status, but might depend if we qualify for Europe again
-
Heard they can't afford him because of FFP
-
Another business decision so we can ensure mid-table mediocrity.

Manchester United vs Newcastle United - Saturday 26th November @ 3pm

He's an inferior and older player to Santon, playing out of position and forcing Guiterez to defend for the majority of the game. He's keeping one of our most exciting young prospects out of the team, who has looked exciting when he has come on. I understand peope wanting to keep some consistancey in defense, but I would rather make the change and let Santon get settled into the team as soon as possible. -
Finally started knocking the ball past the defender and trying him for pace, don't know why he hasn't done that more.
-
Whoever comes up through the play offs at home, need early points.
-
never heard this before, same old NUFC Shouldn't you have your champions league place sewn up by now like all your fans were saying before the season started?
-
I think it will depend on how he reacts when he makes a few mistakes and the crowd get on his back. From what Roeder has been saying it sounds like he has the right attitude, but it is easy to lose confidance when your playing in the newcastle back line.
