Which less dumb cunt do you think we can realistically get mid-season?

Erm, I've never been fond of ad hominem, but... you high? Why? Well lets see- the Keegan fiasco, xisco, Kinnear, relegation, sport direct, refusal to show ambition in transfer window blaa blaa... Do you feel that after sacking Pardew the fat one will replace him with a better manager and support him as he should have Pardew in the last window? I'm just repeating myself now, but we've been trying to get rid of our board the entire time I've supported Newcastle United, and it just isn't going to happen. Who is this amazing owner you have lined up to replace Mike anyway? I haven't, that is precisely it. Just saying that replacing the manager with whoever Mike Ashley will be able to attract might not be a good idea looking at past history as an example. I think my point is I feel we're stuck with Pards, as the owner isn't fucking off and I can't see any manager who is a step up working with him. I can however see us scraping the bottom of the barrel to pull another Kinnear like appointment out the bag and we know how that turned out....

To all those proposing he should go who do you propose we replace him with? Apart from the Hughton sacking, which was obviously done with Pardew lined up sacking a manager mid crisis rarely results in a positive step up. Just thinking back to the Kinnear appointment, the Hughton/calderwood combination once he took ill, then the Shearer appointment, then stumbling upon appointing Hughton as a permanent appointment after relegation. Even if we can identify some managers who may be a step up e.g Jol, Martinez would they come work under Ashley? The real problem for me isn't the system/ tactics, they've largely been unchanged from last season which we obviously did so well. The problems are too many players are out if form Jonas, Tiote, Colo (recently), even Timmy apart from tonight. These are players who were playing out of their skin last year. Secondly there's been the injuries and the extra games. Obviously this should have been addressed in our summer transfer window, is this Pardew's fault? Probably not, it's unlikely he has much say with regards hammering through deals for transfers. Ultimately it's probably Mike Ashley's head we should be calling for, probably have less influence on removing him I know but he's the one holding us back. Until this board are rid of we are not going to show the ambition required to consistently remain challenging in the top 6.

I'd say if you look at our players man for man, we are actually above what we'd expect, of course we are! Look at the fact that after saylor-collocini our next centre-back is Williamson, who would never get games in one of the so called big-6. Even forwards wise before the cisse signing it was a case of Ba and either Best/Shola/Lovenkrands. Look at our fullbacks Simpson/raylor. All examples of players that man for man are NOT up there with the best of the premier league, they're not even close. Jus t look at this thread : - http://www.newcastle-online.org/nufcforum/index.php/topic,89739.0.html Didn't see many predicting we may be finishing 7th or above, which we are in a fantastic position to do. Anyways who do you propose may be able to get the "best out of these" players?

You want to go to Tottenham and play a front 3. Our central midfield would be completely over-run by this, not really an option. As much as I'd like Ben Arfa to be playing and in the side it probably has to come either: 1. Wide in a 4-4-2 ie in place of Obertan or on left and switching Jonas wide right - possible but Pardew seems unwilling to do this. 2. As one of the players playing off the single front man in 4-5-1/4-3-3 I.e. the formations we played against Brighton and Blackburn with one up top and 2 playing wide - involves playing Demba in a different role and will most likely blunt some of his goal threat, not really an option considering what he has done so far. 3. In the number 10 role with either Ba/Cisse - again the majority would agree this is not favourable option even with the little we have seen of Cisse. 4. Pardew coming up with a way of utilising him - remember when Keegan found a more withdrawn role for Owen allowing Martins and Viduka to play up top.

We'll lose now that he has predicted us to win.

Actually when you click on the table they are the 2nd oldest. -
In your view, for your beliefs it may be sad but obviously not for him i.e his beliefs are not that all this is for nothing in return. Who is right? Well it doesn't matter, thats why its called a belief. Ah fuck it I give up. Demba scored 14 since Ramadan and he just can't get enough, he just can't get enough!

Never gonna happen. From his point of view the encouraging thing is he is getting into goal scoring opportunities unlike Best. -
I think you will find most studies find people with religion have generally happier and more fulfilled lives than those that don't. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Religion_and_happiness Oh, please! Your comment about feeling sorry for Demba because he is religious was ridiculous I am certain he does not need your sympathy Not because he is religious. It's because he's working hard in life in terms of his religion, and let's face it... being a practising Muslim takes a bit of effort to say the least, and at the end of all that..... FUCK ALL! There is nothing after this life. That's what is saddening me. Why the fuck is it saddening you? Have you contemplated that maybe he doesn't believe that after this life there is as you put it "FUCK ALL!"? It won't change anything though. Eh? Don't quite know what you are getting at there, I never said Demba practicing his religion would. You have made it clear that you obviously don't feel it will. However that doesn't seem to be how wor Demba feels. Its obviously an important part of his life from reading his interviews and how he conducts himself. If that makes a happy Ba who continues to bang in the goals for us, then all the better.

He wasn't here for long, spoke in Arabic with the owners and left with about 10 magnum ice creams.

Just saw Hatem Ben Arfa at Oasis sheesha cafe, across from the centre for life.

Any chance away fans will be able to pay at cash turnstiles on the day for this one? Remember this has been the case in the past. -
The 2010-2011 Betting Thread - forum gamble fails, Ash's fault.

Tempted to "invest" £500 in Manchester United winning the league, can get 20/21 on betfair meaning a profit of about £450 taking away the commission. Seems pretty risk free to me as with chelsea having fallen away so badly can't see arsenal or man city lasting the pace. Thoughts? -
The "We Won't Win Another Game This Season" Fred aka Relegation-o-meter
LateRegistration replied to Stu's topic in Football
Interesting to note that in our relegation season (2008-2009) after 18 games we had 22 points, exactly the same as this season after the same number. Goal difference again is -1, but have more goals for. 2008/09: NUFC after 18 games: 22 points, 12th position (scored 24, conceded 25) 2010/11: NUFC after 18 games: 22 points, 9th position (scored 28, conceded 29) Overall though still a lot more confident about staying up this season just because west brom away aside the effort and desire seem to be always there. -
Been on night shifts so haven't been able to post until now. For me though the true measure of how well Hughton has done is the fans reaction to his sacking - almost complete anger, despair, disappointment! It ought to be worth remembering the reaction to the prospect of having Hughton in charge of team affairs once we got relegated in 2009, myself included felt we'd have no chance of coming straight back up with him in charge and may actually be in trouble of dropping further. I even remember writing on here that I would rather Joe "fucking" Kinnear be in charge than Hughton (actually feel a bit ashamed I thought that). Although I think a lot of us overestimated the ability of most championship teams, even when we were doing relatively well in the championship, as soon as a few things would go against us it was a case of "Hughton out", "lets get a proper manager". Its also worth remembering that Chris didn't have any particular ties to the club i.e. he's not an ex-player or Geordie, like an Alan Shearer who would automatically get support and be given more leeway if results were going against us. However this man won us all over, despite very few of us believing in him in the beginning and taking over at one the lowest points in our recent history. For a lot of us apathy and resentment towards players and the club, in particular its owners was at an all time high, but Chris managed to bring the feel-good spirit back and with it a semblance of pride in the club, of an affection towards the squad of players. This itself is responsible for creating the environment which has brought the best out of many of our players (Enrique, Carroll, Colo, etc). Aside from the WBA game in most games the players have played with commitment, effort and desire and a clear team spirit whereby even when the result is no good, the intent is always there. For the first time in a long time I can actually say I felt a "connection" to a lot of the players, like they were wanting victories just as much as us the fans were, and just as happy as us when those victories came and just as disappointed when they didn't, rather than simply picking up their massive pay packets and living a lavish lifestyle whilst we paid for it. At all times he has remained dignified and even dealt with off-field problems in the background. He has managed to do this despite working under what must be the worst board to work under in Britain, with little funds, on a relatively pitiful wage and being almost humiliated by not being rewarded with a long-term contract. Of course had he been replaced with a top class manager then at least we could understand it and whilst still being disappointed he has gone could have seen some method to this madness but we all knew there was no chance of that happening. For fucks sake man the owners should be forever in Chris’s debt for it is him that has managed to dissipate the anger and hatred felt against the board to the extent where there weren’t even any Ashley out chants and people were looking to how we could move forward with this current board in charge. However somehow, somehow, they’ve managed to recreate the same atmosphere of ill-feeling on and off the field that no doubt played a part in our last relegation from the premiership. Its worth looking at a snippet of the statement released by Ashley at the end of that season “Seeing Newcastle United relegated from the Premier League has been a catastrophe for us all. I fully accept mistakes were made during this and previous seasons and I am very sorry for that.” - Well you fat twat you’re fucking still amazingly making those mistakes now. For me Chris is someone who I will now always look on with fondness, he is one that can hold his head high, at a time when there are few associated with our club who can. Christopher William Gerard "Chris" Hughton you will be sorely missed.

Thats not that bad at all actually, will obviously need 15 stitches or so but his quadriceps muscle looks fine.

At the moment there are shitloads of roadworks and if he travelled at any time between about 2pm to 6.30pm it could well have taken him about 4 hours, especially considering he'll be going into central manchester to get to the MRI. Driving before 2pm or after 6.30pm on a weekday when there were no roadworks I can do Gosforth to East Didsbury in about 2 hours 10 mins but I do speed quite a bit.

Whilst I think krul is already a fantastic shot stopper and will become a great keeper, his decision making with regards to crosses and coming off his line are not (quite appropriately given his age and experience) upto scratch. A perfect example of this wad the first goal chelsea scored. Ideally we would only use him as s sub and hopefully his superb saves will make for other errors he will undoubtedly make. Apologies if that comes out funny sent it on my Android whilst on night shift.

As someone who is not exactly avid England fan I'm more bothered bout the fact the disallowed goal robbed us of what would probably have been an epic 2nd half. Deserved to get beat tho but had it been a toon goal disallowed in such fashion i'd be far more upset from the result point of view.

Didn't post it at the time but on the friday night before the manu vs chelsea match last week saw Wayne Bridge on the same table as Ashley Cole and Essien in Samporo Tepanyaki in Manchester. Was quite interesting seeing Bridge hanging out with current Chelsea players and makes you wonder how other Chelsea players view the Terry/Bridge situation. If anyones been to Samporo Tepanyaki they'll know that its quite a lively atmosphere and some table participation with the chefs being in the centre of the table. Anyways towards the end of the night as the group was getting up to leave, one of the girls on the opposite table (who'd had a few) shoted "Sharon!" towards Ashley Cole before some pointed out its Cheryl not Sharon and there were a couple of choruses of "Cheryl, Cheryl!" before they left via a side exit. The following evening saw El-Hadj Diouf in Prohibition in Manchester city centre. The next day saw ex-mackem Liam Lawrence doing some shopping in Harvey Nichols and to top it off saw Zak Knight at the AMC cinemas yesterday evening.
