That wasn't the statement I was responding to, the 80's were mentioned. I wasn't at games in the 70s, take your word for it.

I'm saying I never personally saw any real bother from them 84-89, they never brought more than a couple of thousand to St James for any game in that era. I attended all of them.

Count me as one who'd be ever so slightly disappointed if we didn't sign him, especially after chasing him all of January and AS claiming he still wanted to join in that later interview. Young, powerful, strong CB who could grow brilliantly with us.

Cannavaro and Seedorf looking in good nick there like, brilliant players

Stunning news. As a fanbase, they've traditionally been so law abiding.

Doubtful we'd be in for Mings, despite Howe's admiration of him in the past. Konsa is injured and will miss the start of Villa's season so they probably need him anyway. I'd like to see us go for Badiashile if Botman is a non-starter. He was supposed to be going to Milan but haven't heard any more on that.

Hate Roma and their medieval wanker fanbase

Dare not get too hopeful here, last I heard there was major interest but huge gap in valuation. Lyon see us coming and probably want 70m.

Captain Steak Bakes (now managing Blackpool/revising history)
LionOfGosforth replied to David Edgar's topic in Football
He also has an iron-clad media suit of armor and knows it. 20 years of utter failure, pissing off fanbases everywhere, outrageously defensive and abusive to all and sundry who dare to challenge him, an ego the size of Cheshire, never ever ever called out by anyone in the media for it. Instead, his failures are actually lauded as success by his media cronies and even (unforgivably) current managers like Arteta FFS. It's a sick cycle of sycophantic lies and mistruths that will never go away until he retires or snuffs it. -

Second Spuds goal came from another catastrophic Krul error, giving the ball away

Funny how the words "dick" and "head" don't appear anywhere in his Twitter profile.

Alan Smith in 1987 still makes me want to puke

Not to piggy back on this theme particularly but they do seem to have a higher percentage of "life on the tattered fringe" bellends following them. I happened on a video on YT from the Liverpool-Everton game a few weeks back, filmed from the section right next to their fans. The amount of them acting like utter drooling maniacs, gesturing constantly, making "wall pushing" gestures, wanker signs, threatening behavior, was astounding to me. Like they came from the fucking middle ages or something.
