He's really gone down in my estimation after the Krul incident. All he needs to do now is sign for Man City and any fondness that I had is officially gone. Always imagined he would stay at Arsenal or maybe join Barcelona one day for the football, but if he chooses money over football he'll have proven to be a cunt just like the others.

Dutch media (VI) now reporting a delegation of Borussia Monchengladbach has arrived at the FC Twente stadium at 15:00 CET to finalise a deal which will include a player exchange with Twente target Oscar Wendt. Also De Jong's father and agent are there. Looks like he's a goner..

Wasn't that ben arfa before he joined? I kinda expect it of the French. Besides Junior is not even on the same planet as Ben Arfa, and I'd struggle to imagine him ever making it there. Nzogbia mark II and no mistake. I'd be extatic if we added a Zog* to our current squad. * the one we and Wigan used to have, not the Villa under McLeish one mind.

Hardly earth shattering is it. Maybe not earth shattering, but certainly two very promising moves. I wanted Sigurdsson here badly especially. Wouldn't surprise me if he went on to become a regular 20 goal a season attacking midfielder. AVB is a bit of a gamble, but he's certainly showed potential at Portugal and will have learned at Chelsea, so is potentially another brilliant move for them.

First AVB, now Sigurdsson. I've officially stopped laughing..

Happens to the best of us, doesn't it Dave?
-
Aye. It's been surprisingly quiet on that front. Let's hope it stays that way.
-
Here's hoping he rejects their interest to see the fallout on RTG. Hope we consequently steer well clear if that's how much they want for him.
-
Shame, sounded like a ready made replacement for Guthrie.
-
Really? In that case I'd fully expect him to be miffed.
-
Why would he be miffed about representing his country and participating in the Olympics? I'd say it's quite an honour.

The buying club in question has nothing to do with it. Do you expect us to have sympathy if it was somebody like Everton just because they're not made of money? We'd still only sell on our terms. In addition to that you have to consider that for a club like FC Twente we are like Man City compared to them in terms of financial power due to the outrageous TV deals in the Premiership. It's bad enough English clubs beying able to poach all the best talent from other leagues (from their perspective), but now you're esseantially saying they should just roll over and accept whatever we offer them?
-
We'd still want to maximize the transfer fee wouldn't we? It has to be a reasonable price though So if Man City come in for Cisse, and his agent declares he would like to move as it's a step up in his career you'd expect NUFC to be reasonable in setting a transfer fee? Rightio. I'd expect us to say 50 million or you can bugger off, and rightfully so.
-
Agreed. I thought you were implying they should let him leave for less than they're asking because he wants away. It appears FC Twente really don't want to and need to sell unless they get an offer they can't refuse, which is pretty much how we operate as well. Seeing as we've proven in the past we'd rather get nobody in than pay more than we believe a player is worth for it to be an excellent deal it now definitely looks like this will not happen. I sincerely hope and actually trust the club now that we've got some more strings to ouw bow and we won't gamble like we've done in the past season (succesfully it has to be said) with the striker, full back and centre back positions.
