  1. I don't even agree that at any time a layoff was a more sensible option than to go it alone, and that's not even taking into account the adrenaline factor. It's completely nonsense to suggest that clip shows anything other than Ben Arfa being a sublime footballer at the height of his game.
  2. OMFG man, I hadn't seen that vid. Football can be such a simple, yet awesome game when great fans inspire great players to express themselves on the pitch in their honour. We are a million miles removed from any of that and have been for the best part of a decade. As a non-born Geordie it does make me question my sanity why I keep going back to this shithole of a club and have lost the love for the game so much that I can't really bring myself to any more than "strictly necessary" i.e. our games. There are actually fans and players out there having a blast
  3. Their PR and general attitude towards their fans is f***ing lightyears ahead of ours as well They sound like lunatics. I can only assume they are on the verge of doing a Leeds or Portsmouth? You probably hated their Christmas video, wasn't racist enough FFS

  5. GhoeberX Mk II people The Kluivert days Now this is dedication: http://www.patrick-kluivert.com/about.php Get your sorry asses in gear. I want to see hatem-ben-arfa.com
  6. Maybe they will agree to do a complete club swap deal?
  7. It just makes me laugh when you hear all this mercenary rubbish directed at footballers when clubs will protect every penny they can when it comes to contracts. Players don't bleed for shirts b/c clubs don't bleed for the players. It's a strictly what have you done for me lately business these days. Every player is about that money, they stick around longer if the club matches their personal ambitions and talent. Ba left the minute he realized we weren't going anywhere with Pardew and Ashley. Cabaye left the minute he was able to leave for France b/c he thought he was world class and could be a stud for PSG, when the luck ran out in the French team he crawled right back to us but we didn't want him so he made up all this s*** that he wanted to go play for Palace (who happen to be in London) b/c Pardew would let him do whatever he wanted. Cabaye spoke to lengths about the lack of passing game under Pardew but is perfectly fine with him now as long as he's in London and getting into the French team. Remy left the minute his loan was up b/c he wanted to try and play for a club that won something. You've got maddys like Hatem Ben Arfa who didn't give a s*** about the fame or the club, he wanted to play where he was wanted and loved and worshipped. We couldn't even get that right. Fantastic post. The bolded bit is truly heartbreaking Aye
  8. Even moreso than Pardew, I do wonder what Bruce thinks when he sees how well Hatem is doing over there in a team where the manager understands him. We all know Pardew is a hopeless man manager, but Steve should have been able to get something out of him, and it would easily have kept them up.
  9. Can't compete with the likes of Crystal Palace Quite ironic that Pardew hammered that line of thought in us for years, and it's worked with so many. On the basis that nothing good ever happens to us I don't believe Remy will come here. In fact, he'll be a tease before sacking us off for some other club again.
  10. We've been consistently excellent for a while now apparently. You'd think we'd be closing in on the top spot. So far for honesty.
  11. Holy shit, that's absolutely disgusting
  12. And yet he is/was always the obvious choice as he is the only DM in our ranks who has shown in the past an ability to play that position effectively.
  13. This. Pardew basically made him a worse player as he did with so many others. Huge concerns remain with Tiote, mainly how to keep him fit and how to reign him in to only do the basics of defending and giving the ball to a team mate in space asap if he wins it.
  14. Begs the question why he's only being introduced when one of Anita or Colback is unavailable when neither should be playing whenever Cheick is fit to play. Probably because he's been god awful every time he's played for about 4 years. Hyperbole much?

  16. Gets a bye from me today. For once I agree we didn't deserve to lose. He was forced into giving Tiote a chance and decided correctly imo to stick Wijnaldum in the middle rather than out wide. We looked a lot better for it. Hopefully we won't revert to type asap.
