Nobody is saying that. The trouble with Martins is, the major flaws in his game are things that usually come naturally to players and aren't coached or taught. Combine that with the fact he's 22 years old and has already had several years at one of the biggest clubs in the world, and there's good reason to feel pessimistic about his chances of improving such basic attributes.

Neill would have got a lot more games at Liverpool than Sidwell will at Chelsea. Based on nothing more than your opinion. Based on Sidwell having 6 people ahead of him for 2 positions, Neill being able to play in 2 positions and fighting with one other for the right back role and Chelsea's history of signing young players, hardly ever playing them and setting back their careers. 3 positions, isn't it? Makelele & Ballack may yet leave too. Who knows wether Mourinho rates him above Mikel and Diarra, we'll see.

No they weren't. Oh really? No they weren't. ...I mean, correct.

He rejected an improved wage offer from West Ham. So, who made the pathetic deicsion, Neill or Sidwell? As i said before, footballers can't win, they're either mercenaries or showing no ambition.

Out of interest, why do you think he would leave sunny, La Liga challenging, CL qualifying, back-to-back Uefa Cup winners, Sevilla, for us?

Bearing in mind we've just hired a new manager and the transfer window is due to open soon, I'm not sure there's been that many 'bad' threads recently. Won't this lead to newer members 'spamming' in other topics in order to raise their post count anway?

Where's Scott "usually very quick to voice an opinion" Parker....

Personally, i've wanted Parker to leave since Last Christmas. I'll be delighted if he goes and joins West Ham's Bad Boys for £8m. -
I'm not a fan of Martins, but if the offer is only what we paid, i'd be inclined to give him another season in what promises to be a much more organised side. That said, if there was the option of Anelka IN and Martins OUT without any expenditure, i would take it in an instant, likewise any offers in excess of £14m. Our priority should be keeping Owen and replacing Martins with a more suitable partner for him, and Anelka certainly fits the bill.

Sort of! I just think he's the type of player to get the thick twats all excited. He would do a job for them but he's a spent force. It wouldn't surprise me if he signed for them on a big wage tbh. '20 goals a season' is the response I'd expect from the deluded wankers. http://www.readytogo.net/smb/showthread.php?t=226071 ...even they seem to appreciate he's done at this level.

He'll end up at Sunderland imo. Aye, was thinking the promotion teams would probably go after him. He'd probably be an excellent signing for the Mackems or Derby/West Brom. Brum have got enough strikers. He's just the sort of player they need. Small fee - canny wage - 2 year contract. He'd go for the £ and the chance to play for Keane. He'd be first choice forward and he'd get a reasonable amount of chances to finish. Could end up with 20 goals next season if he stays fit. Have you seen him play recently? Or am i going to be 'wooshed'...

I doubt Nolan will be our captain next season, even if we do make the mistake of signing him. Good news.

Xabi Alonso/Scott Parker/Michael Owen

I suppose it was all just another masterstroke from the 'special one' to.. erm... take the attention away from his players.

Jorge Valdano came out with a few good ones the other day, if i remember correctly.

best squad I´m seen so far. Parker, Butt and Nolan... that's going to create a lot.

Viduka is immensely talented and would offer us something different up front. I would have a few concerns over his desire and commitment if he was only to be used as a bit-part player, but on a free, it's a no-brainer.

Jo-se , Wherever you may be, Ji Sung Park ate your dog for tea, You won fuck all and your dog is dead, Why don't you get a cat instead.

In reality Everton wouldn't even consider anything below £10m.

Allardyce fell out with Pedersen before he left Bolton, so there's little chance of him turning up. If people are hoping to see Babayaro sold, we could do worse than Fortune as a cheap, backup left-back. Well, maybe not much worse, but still.

Yeah? Who on earth is he then? The man who got Bradford relegated the season after Jewell kept them up on the last day of the season. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/w/wigan_athletic/6654861.stm

Chris Hutchings has already been given the Wigan job.

I wasn't referring to the unfinished business thing - I agree entirely on that part - I was referring to the bit after re the top four or Newcastle part. Well what's to disagree with?? Fucking hell. You think he would turn Man City down and go somewhere like Villa? I seriously doubt it. Whereas on the other hand on more than one occasion he's indirectly registered an interest in the toon job. What's your problem exactly? This is one of the most informed, entertaining and honest sites around for football chat, but you always seem one step away from an enormous argument and just look to provoke it. Turn Man City down and go somewhere like Villa? There's an enormous irony in that that I'd trust even you to work out. sorry, but I think Man City are a bigger fanbase club with better supporters than Villa too. Absolutely no question. I don't think that's what he was getting at...
