  1. Aww come on, at least he got into the position, which I am quite certain noone else would have, and when he looked up Dyer was in the box the he put his head down and by the time he'd played it Dyer had stopped completely and it looked like a shit ball. He looked good, promising. I like the look of him too, but that was a great chance to be an instant hero.
  2. Shame Carroll bottled it at the end.
  3. Season over?? Where did we finish?! We'll see.
  4. Chelsea have it won now.
  5. Oh, i thought it was allowed once the goalkeeper had released the ball too.
  6. Solskjær nicks it from Schwarcz and scores a perfectly good goal - it's disallowed and he gets booked.
  7. 1-0 Manchester United already, Richardson.
  8. Good header - two assists for Cesc.
  9. Awful defending by Chimbonda... 1-1, Touré.

    Given's injuries

We'd probably make a small profit and get the better goalkeeper. For what its worth, Given is the better keeper, but such a move would be very good business if Given's stomach injury meant that Given was going to miss 10+ games a season from now on. Marginally, Gordon has potential to be very, very good.

  12. Gallowgate, can you explain the thinking behind playing Parker & Emre? I can't understand: a. Dropping Nicky Butt, consistently our best player this season. b. Playing Parker as a defensive midfielder when he doesn't possess several of the basic attributes required. c. Playing the two together when partnerships of Butt & Emre, Butt & Dyer, and even Butt & Parker have all looked more effective.

  15. 1. Sack Roeder. 2. Sell Dyer & buy Diego. 3. Sell Martins & go all out to get Berbatov.
  16. Just watched that again, better than the one vs. Southampton.
  17. cause they have tried their best to get him to sign a contract and he wouldnt as he wants to move on. Simple really if he was being let go for no reason, or being sold off then i would join you I think Dan is implying he is a mercenary bastard basically, aye. He should fit right in. Perhaps this was a concern when Duff chose us over an on the up Tottenham, but now the only reason a player would want to come to Newcastle from Reading is money?!
  18. Even if he had a perfect injury record i still wouldn't be interested, we already have two strikers desperately lacking in composure and intelligence, no need to add a third.

    Tonights Matches

Shame, West Ham have been dominant - good goal nonetheless. Deserved.
  20. Keane is yet to prove himself tactically, but it's evident he has excellent motivational and man management skills, and those two attributes can be just as, if not more important than tactical awareness in a coach. Take Alex Ferguson for example, arguably the greatest manager of our time, he is by no means the best tactician on the planet, but the traits he possesses as a human being, combined with a good football brain, have proven more than enough to take him to the very top of the sport. I believe Keane shares several of these qualities, which puts him above the majority of that list from the off. Remember this is his first season, he has his entire career in front him to learn the finer points of management, and i think he's intelligent enough to do so. Sam Allardyce Mark Hughes Roy Keane
  21. 'Biting' implies someone is fishing. Yorkie, are you happy to pay Luque millions of pounds over the next 18 months in return for nothing? Even if you think he's incapable of producing anything in a Newcastle shirt, we must now put him in the shop window for these last few games. Who knows, if he does perform and we appoint a manager who actually possesses some man management skills in the Summer, he may yet be a relative success here. At very least it will let potential suitors know he's still alive. We have nothing to lose.
  22. You do realise we're currently paying Luque £40k a week for doing absolutely nothing, don't you? And that, as it stands, we will continue to do so next season? Carroll will get plenty of opportunities in the future (although i would actually them both), Luque must play now with the faint hope he'll actually put in some half decent performances and convince a team to pay some of his wages next season. Do you think some club is going to magically appear offering a man who has not played 90 minutes back-to-back for 2 years £40k a week? Not to mention Luque is by far the superior player. My team: Given Solano Onyewu Edgar N'Zogbia Milner Butt Emre Luque Carroll Martins
  23. never gonna happen By the end of next season they'll be in a better position to do so than us.
