  1. Yeah, I'm gradually feeling it more and more. Not to any hideous extent yet but for instance last night, after relaxing on the sofa for an hour, I got up and got the most searing cramp in my adductor which I've never experienced before. Really must get into a stretching routine.

Howe always refers to this whenever he gets asked a question about competition for places, etc. Train well, take opportunities, support those ahead of you.
  3. I doubt it'll be straightforward because it rarely is in the Premier League, and they're a team of decent players only really affected by ludicrous decisions at an executive level, being led by an idiot who's out of his depth. They have players who can harm us. However, it's just got to be three points today. We're gonna have ups and downs this season but we need to eradicate any creeping notion of SJP being easier to play at asap. There's not really any excuse for a repeat of that horrible Boxing Day.
  4. In a Premier League dugout four short years ago.
  5. ORDER OF PLAY: 10:30-11:15 - 🟥 Reds Vs Blues 🟦 (HT/drinks break 10:50) 11:20-12:00 - 🎏 R&Bs Vs B&Ws 🐼 (HT/drinks break 11:40)
  6. Finally, boss! Someone in football has said something about Jill Scott being ignored on The Overlap! I can finally print this little article to stoke more divisive debate about women in football, for both sides to feast on! Yeah but who's the footballer? Erm, 'Demetri Mitchell'? Who? Dunno. We've got a pic of him in a Man Utd shirt though. He's definitely a real footballer. That'll do, go to print.

Funny reading pages 118-120 of this thread. Feels like that was basically that for him here. Ruined by injuries and, reading between the lines, attitude.
  8. Who doesn't love a deadline day transfer? @El Prontonise replaces @Jimburst in the Reds and Black&Whites teams respectively.

We'll just have to agree to disagree. Investing with as little risk as possible appears to be the defining characteristic of our transfer policy imo. You've also got to factor in all the (even lower risk) players we'd missed out on before turning to Wissa. Woltemade was higher risk but there's no way he ends up here if we've signed Pedro, for instance. Maybe we should have got that Guessand guy instead. Apparently he had a shot last night!

Couldn't agree less. His injury record was absolutely impeccable and he was a proven goalscorer in the Premier League. It was the dictionary definition of low risk. People get so hung up on age, like. He's 29 ffs. We've not signed a corpse; I think you can do the maths and feel confident that you're at least gonna get a good couple of seasons out of the bloke. He's also played at least half of his career at a level lower than Ligue 1 so the toll on his body will be less. If you want to argue that it was a less sustainable signing from a purely financial perspective, I'd respect the argument but ultimately put my trust in the club, given how conscious we are of PSR. We wouldn't have pulled the trigger if we weren't comfortable about the financial impact. It's just incredibly bad luck; absolutely nothing else to it.
  12. Acuna, jimburst can no longer make it. Are you sorted for a red top or still need a loan?
  13. Actually, ffs, it's just the British and Irish lads' games. Man!
  14. Stand on their fucking throat. Massive opportunity to build the momentum; please do it.
