Caught up in the Big Nick stuff I've barely processed my thoughts on this. Can't get over the extent of the nostalgia tour here, like. Definitely would've liked at least one other fresh opponent but what the heck, some incredible ties and some incredible memories to rekindle. Have vivid ones of PSV and particularly Marseille (Drogba ) in 03/04. Feels like there's a bit of a personal score to settle in the Velodrome so will look forward to that. Tough games; no gimmes, assuming USG ain't mugs.

Just saw Palace barely snuck past Fredrikstad 1-0 on aggregate. Surely that trophy is going to a different league this year?

If we end up with W&W I can probably pivot to not giving much a fuck about Isak whatever happens, just as long as they pay his market value. We'll have what we need to move on with an extremely refreshed attacking squad, and he'll be in the rear view mirror. Two new lads to go to war for.

He chopped off the end of my post which confirmed that Gordon as second choice isn't what we ideally want. I maybe overcomplicated the point TBF. I think I'm just trying to mentally prepare myself for the squad being in a state. Finding the positives, Gordon's probably alright as a second choice CF - easily better than Wilson - though clearly it's not what we want.

We are having more games this season with CL. Isak played more than enough last year as it was. That's why I said the last bit. Basically all I'm saying is Gordon > Wilson, and there may be hope for him through the centre, on the basis of the first two games. While it wouldn't be ideal if he ends up second choice, it could be worse.
