Pleased for Targett, hope his career picks up from here. More good work in shifting out the (harsh to say) deadwood. Favourite moments include his tackle which led to the breakaway for Bruno's winner vs Leicester; skipping into the melee post-Schar against PSG; scoring that worldie in a brief bit of club media last pre-season. Sad we never got to see what he was like as a CDM against Man Utd that time.

I'm not sure anyone who's shelling out a grand for a single garment could give two thirds of a shite about our transfer business.
-
We're literally the only club to have publicly stated that we're not selling our striker.
-
That pair of Twitter freaks cracking on like it's just completely normal stuff. Hideous. This has been a transfer window for the ages, like. One of the worst I can remember.
-
You are right, but it wasn't at this scale before PSR. You'd always see players moving upwards to those clubs but it was a few in total, not 8/9/10 or more, whilst also robbing those targets from would-be challengers.

I swear Ornstein could wish me a happy birthday at this point and I'd want to drive a forklift truck through his face.

What about them? I'm on about the ESL clubs' spending. You'll take some convincing of me to suggest NUFC is contributing to the stratification given our summer of being raw-dogged by said teams.
-
So many assets taken from the middle to lower table too, only adding to the stratification. Arsenal: Norgaard Arsenal: (Kepa) Arsenal: Eze Chelsea: Pedro Liverpool: Kerkez Man City: Ait Nouri Man City: Trafford ManU: Mbeumo ManU: Cunha Spurs: Kudus

we've gone to some places this window, like.

He's never played in the Premier League so it definitely isn't the most risk-free. The price would also be higher for us.

Needless to say I think Wissa would take next to no convincing re a Spurs move. They've got a lot to offer and he'd still be in London. Hilarious if he ends up going there and we're up to - I think - our top five striker targets all transferring to ESL sides, not to mention our own one agitating to join one too.

Depending on who's up for a bit of craic on Saturday, if we can squeeze some of the fun activities scheduled for last thing into your PM slot, that would be good... ☺️ Will probably head back at a reasonable evening time.

Confirmed as Saturday 4th October. Please like the o.p. if you intend to play.

Opening this thread to find a lecture from a Grimsby Town fan wasn't on my bingo card, like.

I don't think it's mental gymnastics pointing out the contextual differences but if he's refusing to play then obviously that is the same and not ideal. If it was June 1st I'd be wanting us to look elsewhere.

Yeah. Her dad is full-blown red, hence the 'ish'.
-
Was thinking the same myself this morning when picturing the match on Monday, and thinking, "fuck, am I really going to that place again already?" Blood pressure tablets by 35 at this rate. Lass is of a Liverpool-ish persuasion so I've just told her to be elsewhere this time.
-
Yeah. Probably why we'll never see one made again. Urgh, it's frustrating. I really want us to sign the guy but it's rubbish he's gone about it in this way. I still think it's a lot more understandable to be dying to get out of Brentford as opposed to being dying to get out of Newcastle. One of those clubs is just treading water every year while the other is in the CL and trying to progress. But the refusing to play thing is undeniably shitty.

It's true that he's back in training this week, isn't it? Like Isak, his behaviour has been unprofessional and you don't like to see anyone disrespecting their club, but the context is pretty different, like, and seemingly so are his actions. Brentford have made it clear that they're not interested in progress; they sell to survive and had no succession plan for Frank that anyone would consider ambitious. Meanwhile Wissa himself is approaching the point where his better days are behind him; there's the supposed gentleman's agreement; and the matter of only one guaranteed year on his contract. There's also the point that Brentford to Newcastle is a helluva leap and a much bigger jump than Newcastle to Liverpool, who we literally beat to honours last season, and stole a Champions League place from two years back. I wish players would submit transfer requests but that just doesn't happen these days. It's a shame he's behaved the way that he has but it seems slightly more 'proportionate' than Isak's actions.
