    Dogawful Officiating

First time I've seen that since last night. My fucking God. 🙃
  2. As I've said all through the window, we don't make a decision that impacts the long-term future windows and gives us big problems. So any decision we make will always be based around controlling PSR and good financial decisions.
  3. If anything, last night demonstrated that any striker capable of scoring double figures in the Premier League should do pretty well in this team. If we can get this guy at an admittedly eye-watering price, it'll be a good result and some justification for waiting to find an appropriate player rather than BEING NEGLIGENT!!! / gambling on someone far less proven.
  4. Obviously not but it makes it fairly forgivable imo. No one's gonna deny that he's let his teammates down and he's due criticism for that, but it's sad how people want to go so hard on people who put enormous amounts of effort in for the team. The incident happened because he went overboard for the cause; it wasn't laziness or any faux hard man shit, he just made a bad decision. That he's out for three games is absolute lunacy and another one to add to the list of garbage rules which favours the big clubs (with bigger, better squads).
  5. The punishment on straight reds is always ludicrously harsh. Missed three games for pushing that Brighton guy over last season.
  6. Don't think there's any doubting it's a red, surely. There's the impact itself but there's also his 20-yard run-up. It was really dangerous, could easily have gone a lot worse for Van Dijk. Clear argument for Gravenberch too, it's literally a two-footer.

    Dan Burn

That recovery tackle after Thiaw's heavy touch was amazing.
  8. That and the anterior drawer. I'm no expert like but one would assume we've got the kit in house to identify (and therefore publicise via Howe) an ACL. Don't mention Botman. I really don't think it looked like one though. More like an overstretch and therefore muscle issue.
  9. For all tonight had a miserable, gut-punching outcome and lots of other mini-disasters, I think I'm a "Sandro is okay" away from feeling much better. The cumulation of the game's climax plus Gordon's suspension, plus the injuries is just too fucking much. But if Tonali is alright, we'll be alright.
  10. Same for me, drove myself home and only went to the hospital the next day. Cunts misdiagnosed it anyhoo I was walking around with an ACL for ten months before getting it (correctly) diagnosed. Even tried to play football a couple of times. That said, there's some very rudimentary tests which any PL physio will do to quickly determine if there's been an ACL. We would know by now I think.
  11. Can't defend him but also can't hate him for what happened, and agree with the viewpoint that he made a mistake whilst giving everything for the team. He absolutely ran his legs off in that half, put every sinew into the effort. I'd put his absolutely shocking decision-making down to a mix of mental exhaustion and classic stupidity. I think it's unfair to talk about cumulative mistakes because the Brighton red was really harsh and underserved.
  12. Bruno dragged us back into the game with the header then was exceptional until full-time. Magnificent performance from him, an easy 9.
  13. What a weird gripe. We were going great guns with ten men six, seven minutes into injury time.
  14. Some weird hates there, like. PSR and VAR are the two biggest things hammering the game at the moment like, nothing else is even in the conversation. Particularly PSR. Everyone knows there needs to be some sort of regulation, but a regulation that totally undermines competition? It's abhorrent and is the game's biggest existential threat.
  15. Love him to pieces. Didn't deserve to be on the losing team tonight at all. You look at him and think he's far too emotional to be captain, but he leads by example and by delivering really crucial moments on the pitch. So gutted for him tonight.
  16. Konate got away with one big time, aye? Just after their second?
  17. Pope - 6 Trippier - 6 Schär - 7 Burn - 8 Livramento - 8 Tonali - 7 Bruno - 9 Joelinton - 7 Elanga - 7 Gordon - sigh Barnes - 5 Hall was brilliant when he came on. Osula clumsy but got the goal. Miley, alright. Ramsey, not really involved. Thiaw, dunno.
  18. Absolutely hideous feeling, as it always is against this lot. Can't decide how it stacks up against the one where they got the 98th minuter at Anfield, the Darwin one, or this. Darwin one probably pips it for sheer nausea but this one was so fucking underserved. 11 minutes.
  19. Honestly, if the inevitable happens...
