Good result, lads. Did what we needed to do against absolutely hideous opposition. Feel for Leicester and their fans. Not much to analyse about our performance, really. Job was done very early and we mostly played within ourselves thereafter. Tonali MotM. Amusing number of little tackles and interceptions. Must be a nightmare to play against.

Bringing a 15 year old on? Fuck's he thinking?
-
Well don't decide, Leon!
-
Not coming off so he can't be that knackered
-
Aye, waving to come off
-
Longstaff coming on to help us keep possession.
-
Why can't we just keep the ball a bit?

Those collars need fecking into the sun.

Ergh wake up, lads. Don't concede.

Ridiculous amount of space in this game.

Annoying night for Barnes to have a stinker.

Surely too lightweight for wor Eddie? What a hilarious transfer window that was. Him, De Jong and Rivieire. About 100kg between the three of them. I thought about Wijnaldum but thought he perhaps fluorished enough anyway to escape the conversation.

Did for Everton and Forest.

But Townsend was excellent in his spell? I thought Sissoko was a good shout based on your parameters. He had his moments but was ultimately a disappointment imo. For players who never really cut it at all, maybe he could've unlocked Mitrovic's potential? He started okay but never really got a look in under Rafa then became a goal machine elsewhere.

Sissoko was gonna be my shout as well. Fast, strong, athletic, direct. Loved the Pezzler but he's not strong enough for Howe. Jonas is a good shout on account of the stamina. Defensively Colo would've been a good fit too. If Carroll wasn't destined to be a crock then he'd have done extremely well under Howe as well I think.

I agree with all this but I think, regardless of how we pictured Gordon, having quality attacking options in depth is priceless and absolutely what a team gunning for European places/trophies needs. If it wasn't for Man City phoning in the cup final then you could probably point to the West Ham 4-3 as the turning point which jolted us into a European place, and his contribution this season requires no validation.

Speaking of the Conference, I see Betis are in terrific form in La Liga and have recently taken four points off Real Madrid and Barcelona. Would be fucking amazing if they beat that horrible club to the trophy.

What has poor Barnes got to do in order for people to stop peddling that line?
-
Forest Green lose again leaving York City on an island in second; eight points clear of third and eight points adrift of first. Maddening that the top two don't go up; it's not quite Wrexham and Notts County levels of separation but they're, by a distance, the second best team in the division. They've earned a promotion by any reasonable metric.

It's one of my favourite Shearer goals. One of those that you whinge about in 5-a-side cos it's blatantly unfair to be kicking it that hard.

I no longer think we'll go for Bowen.

Speaking of West Ham, my hot take is that we'll go all out for Bowen and I reckon he'll fancy it.
