BTW... am i right in thinking that NSG said that there would be a collar? It depends whether or not the Owen picture is purely a mock-up, or the design there is correct and has just been covered, because there is a collar evident there. That would throw the Gothenburg idea out of the window...

I'd have really liked that kit if it wasn't for the poxy NTL logo.
-
Don't say that. Bet that kit would look really nice if it was largely black on the sleeves as apposed to white.

They're human. It probably will take a while.

Sick of the fact that Spurs are miles better than us.

The iPhotoshop there isn't great*, but would definitely like to see the blue trim come back a little something like that. What shirt did you alter? *Not having a go btw, Gray. I could do no better; thanks for the interpretation...

When have we ever had an Adidas standard design?

Please god don't let this be a Livepool shirt..

I'm inundated with faith.

Not true, we were talking about relegation during November. From that point on then. If anyone here says that*, from November to February, that they weren't thinking that we could get into Europe - then they're liars tbh. Europe's always been the target and, apart from the dreadful start, we've never been significantly far off. People* were intent that we were better than Tottenham for God's sake. *Apologies for generalising.

He's a capable coach, based on what? Based on the fact that we're hardly in a relegation dogfight. I'm not going to list the reasons why i think he's a decent coach and is possibly a decent enough manager, partially because i just don't know. I just don't feel that we need to go through a managerial change. Things take time, that's all. We're still in a transitional period. I'm happy to see him given the time to use the summer to do what he has to do. If he fucks up again, i'll be slating him bigtime, because we'll go nowhere. But things aren't crucially bad at the moment, and unless they are come a certain period of next season, i'd like to see him see out his contract. I don't see a clear and desperate need to sack him. You have your opinion and you have mine. The managerial criteria at newcastle these days is:if you keep us from relegation fight you are capable coach :uglystupid2: We've been pushing for Europe most of the season until now, tbh.

Aye, he's done a really shit job turning Bolton from a mediocre second tier club to Champions League hopefuls.

GeJon got one a few weeks back...

It was his decision, though, wasn't it. Not sure who you could be referring to, the scouts? I suppose that's what scouts are for...
-
Is THAT your reason for keeping him on? THAT is my opinion. I think he is a very capable coach - i think he knows how to improve players. And i think he has done a creditable job by steadying the ship that was sinking miserably under Souness, and he's still got Souness' squad to be fair, but for three arrivals (only one having worked out bigtime).

The summer transfer window was inexcusable in 2006. The January one wasn't particularly impressive, but he obviously had little to no funds and it's always difficult to bring players in during that period. Especially with such little to offer as a club at that moment in time. I think he's a decent enough coach who only falls down during matchdays. But if he has anything about him, he will learn from his mistakes. I'm happy to see him build his own squad, something he hasn't done yet, and see out his contract. We're not going to get relegated with him, and unless something goes depressingly wrong, either sack him then or just don't renew it. Sir Bobby's first two seasons were hardly the most enthralling. Scenario 1: He does nowt in the transfer window and we see ourselves deep in the bottom half of the table next season. He should go. Scenario 2: We're generally just mediocre again. Don't renew his contract at the end of next season. Scenario 3: He might do well in the transfer window, we might do well in the league without having Europe to concentrate on. We'll be glad we held onto him. On the whole, what i'm saying is, give him his two seasons. I don't believe he's totally incompetent.

You've made a good start. He's actually a very decent defender. For a nineteen-year-old. Would still prefer Baines, largely because he would be cheaper and is already more experienced - yet is still only young. I think he'll develop into a cracking wing-back. I'd gladly see us splash out for him. Splashing out nowadays is frowned upon for a lot of us, but that's usually only because it's splashed out on the wrong positions (£5m on another left-winger for crying out loud). Left-back is a position we crucially need to improve, so i'd happily watch us spend a significant amount on altering that.

Oh my fucking God in hell.

Meh towards ongoing Shepherd/Roeder arguments and daft comments. I'm glad Shepher's backing him, a managerial change now is the last thing we need. Roeder has his flaws but he is capable, and i still feel that he is learning. Unlike many, i have faith in him to bring us through this transitional period at the right end of the Premier League table. The transitional period should be over come the end of next season, when he should have his own squad. On the other matter, i would love Sidwell here.

They'll probably photograph pieces from left to right, revealing one stripe each time. I can't wait to see which order it goes in...

Can't disagree with much of that, but all the big club stuff is only what's been enhanced by the media. I bet if you put a poll up on here, posing the question - "How big a club are we?", varying from massive to tiny - the results would probably level out around the middle-of-the-road mark, like this reporter states. Providing that all of those under 15 ( ) weren't permitted to vote. Wonder if he's a Newcastle fan? Sounds like he maybe could be. That was an angry article.

Been my bet since November, tbh. Werder and Sevilla are very strong teams, but i just fancy Benfica. Never write off the Portuguese.
-
Stop embarrassing yourself. It's comments from people such as you that give the likes of Kingdawson something to keep coming back to, in an attempt to prove us wrong/stupid - when really, he's only doing it to you. Not saying Spurs are definitely going to beat Sevilla, but i'd say they'd give them a very good go. Wouldn't surprise me if they went through. That said, i'd hate to see it happen.
