  1. Be funny if they signed Greg Halford for £3.5m and we buy Guily for less than half of that.
  2. Aye Delima. A defender simply forgets that there is a striker stood near him. That's why RVN scored 150 goals for Man Utd... the defense forgot he was there!
  3. Same old Sunderland. Promoted to the Premiership. Sign Championship players. Same every year.
  4. Nope, i can see him becoming a bloody good flair player who'll probably average around 12-16 goals a season.
  5. So in other words, every man and his dog.
  6. Shearer stuck with us because we seemed consistently on the brink of something. The appointment of Bobby kept him on when he nearly left, and by 03/04 sort of time, he was too old for anyone to buy him. So Shearer stuck with us for good reason(s). Plus, on top of the success (near), we're a damned good club. However naff we were last season, Boro are an absolutely nothing club who will do nothing, and - in a period of about five years - are more likely to be relegated than reach the top 6. Good on Woody for playing for the club he loves, but it's a major lack of ambition. What's daft is that they've paid £7m for him, but the move will do nowt for him and it'll do nowt for the club. The signing of Jonathan Woodgate, who granted is a terrific individual, isn't something that is going to catapult Boro up into the top 6, or even the top half. A very good centre-back he is, no doubt, but that's all he is. I'm begging for them to go down next season.

    Gossiparama

If Liverpool sign Forlan for that money i'll laugh my tits off.
  8. Wouldn't be surprised. He was always bound to be one of the dressing room anomolies that Nicky Butt spoke of a few weeks ago. Could only see one of Babayaro and Carr leaving, so if Baba does then i can imagine Carr will probably stay. Not overly bothered by that, i'm not a huge fan of Carr, but some of slating he gets on here is a bit over the top. He can be shite at times, but most of the time i reckon he's 'steady', and i said that quite a lot this season. Would rather Baba stayed when you consider ability, but atleast Carr actually fights for the cause.
  9. We've got enough strikers.

    The Striker Game.

Credit to him if he is.
  11. Bernard? Nominal fee, but he was naff for the first season or so; Bobby reverted him back into a defensive position, and he had a storming couple of years.
  12. He had every imaginable odd against him.
  13. Unfortunately, before people slate him, they forget these factors: / He is 22 years old. / He has played in Italy virtually all of his career, never in England. / He is from Milan, a very different place climate-wise and lifestyle-wise compared to Newcastle. / He is from Serie A, a very different style of football compared to the Premier League. / He had only one proper friend when he first came here. / He has never been a first choice player, never mind forced to play up to and over 40 matches in a season. / He had never scored more than 13 goals in a single season. / He had the burden of the number 9 shirt to live up to. / He had the burden of a £10m fee to live up to. / He never had 100% of the fans on his side, which he deserved. / He was playing in a monumentally shite team. / He was playing under a monumentally shite manager. / He never had a particularly good or consistent strike partner. EDIT: / His mother was severely ill at one stage back home in Nigeria. Under the circumstances, i think the lad deserves credit. And i seriously, seriously hope he is given atleast another year to show (confirm) that he can be a very important player for us.
  14. Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Hernan Crespo. Alvero Recoba. Adriano. Julio Cruz. Aswell as the likes of Stankovic. And the chance to cash in £10m.
  15. Yep... it's a shame he's over the hill, beyond any devlopment, with a shit backroom staff and manager behind him, and no decent partners to play with. We're doomed. This is the Martins we've got. He won't improve, folks.
  16. Bored. He's not gonna go and i'm fucking happy about it. Did well last season against every single odd known to man, and will get better. If he works in Sam's formation we'll have a dynamite attack.
  17. I honestly believe that Sam isn't a nutcase, and is content with a front quartet of Michael Owen, Obafemi Martins, Mark Viduka and Shola Ameobi, and isn't senile enough to get rid of someone with the sheer class that Owen possesses, for some downhill renegade who can't score into double figures - who doesn't have a neck.
  18. Not a major fan of Young, but it'd be a decent capture for that price.
  19. Think it would be careless booting Babayaro, as it would mean we'd have two left-backs to sign. Same situation with Dyer. Selling him would mean having to fill another needless gap. Carr, Pattison and Luque for now.
  20. Weren't Arsenal after him a couple seasons back?
  21. Good thing about Dyer, is that with that formation he can fill in about four of those positions. Five if you count right-back.
