  1. I dont like diving, but i see nothing wrong with the others. When i play footy i always try to block the gk's view, and i've never seen that as dirty my job at a corner was to stand infront of the keeper and piss him off. It meant I got punched alot, but i DID score a header once. I was well chuffed. Nowt better than winding players up to breaking point. Loved it.
  2. I bet he might go for Duscher actually... if he feels like implementing his 4-5-1 system - could see Duscher as that holding player. And he's foreign, cheap and experienced. Plus, Deportivo play that formation/4-3-3 quite a bit don't they? And speaking of the 'all players have a clean slate', didn't Luque make his name as a left-sided player in a 4-3-3/4-5-1?
  3. Owen. Not a chance. You have got to be joking! Owen is a shocker - not that he's had much chance to dive in black and white... He goes down easily in the box, but he's not a diver.

  5. What's ironic is that had the two Argentinians not been brought in, West Ham would probably have had a better season.
  6. Only one diver in our squad anyway. And that's Duff. Taylor's just eccentric.
  7. Wouldn't be keen on the cheating part, but everything else - of course! Nowt wrong with a bit of dirty football tbh.
  8. Ben Haim is considering staying at Bolton now, according to Sky Sports.
  9. People who were worried about the "not good players..." comment should stop panicking, as he effectively eradicated that in the press conference by saying "hopefully the players that i bring in are better than the players we have got here...". In fairness it would have been daft to think he wanted to bring in 'bad players'.
  10. I'm always optimistic prior to a new season, but this time it isn't completely centred on hope. I'm genuinely confident that we'll do well under him. Can't wait to see him get the ball rolling. Roll on pre-season!
  11. Spoke very well and came across as a man with a proper plan, and actually knew what he was talking about. I believed him aswell.
  12. He's talking nonsense either way.
  13. It's be a major achievement if we did either of those things. Things like that don't happen over night. Sir Bobby was a world renowned manager with a fantastic track record, and it took him three seasons to go from 13th to the European spots. The transitional periods under Souness and Roeder were never going to climax in anything - because they were crap managers. Allardyce is a good manager, and the appointment gives the club major potential.
  14. I'd prefer something like that tbh! I know it's fake, but it's different and nowt like we've ever had before. I said earlier in the thread - i'm all for us going green and purple and orange. Remember the yellow shirt/blue shorts/orange socks/green collar away kit in the early seventies? That's what i'm talking about!!
  15. Fantastic news - chuffed. Is the press conference still 1pm as scheduled?
  16. Yakubu for £7.5m or Viduka on a free...
  17. Dude...its Michael Johnson? Wouldn't know.
  18. 1. Tal Ben Haim 2. Sylvain Distin 3. Shaun Wright-Phillips 4. Joey Barton 5. Kevin Nolan 6. Nicolas Anelka 7. Mark Viduka 8. Giles Barnes 9. Jussi Jaaskelainen 10. Hameur Bouazza 11. Leighton Baines 12. Pavel Nedved 13. Luis Figo 14. Roberto Carlos 15. Les Ferdinand
