Yup! They need to sort out their defense if they're gonna come up and stay up, though. Last two games of them that i have watched, Palace and Southampton, their defense have been comically bad - a la Newcastle - for periods of the game, and it's cost them goals. They really lack organisation at the back at times. Would love them in the Premiership, though. They're one of those teams that just should be there.

West Brom were shite under Robson and Megson, but they've got a good team this year. With the squad they've got, they should have been in the automatic places. I don't think they'll be as shite and as boring as they were last time, if they come up. Nevertheless, i'd rather neither of these Brummies came up - but would prefer West Brom. Lesser of two evils. And we're shite at Molineux.

At £3m, i think Barton could be worth a gamble. There are few better man-managers than Sam Allardyce, and Barton has so much potential to be a good attacking force. As the Doc says, he's got a great engine - and he can score goals. His stats this season haven't been particularly impressive (better than Parker's), but his head has been all over the place, as have his team. Man City haven't scored goals cos they've got shit strikers. Anything more than £3m though, and i think it's a bit steep. But - if we're on about getting a penetrating attacking midfielder, i'd absolutely love Arteta. But that's just too unlikely. Sam can bring Nolan with him for me... something like 50 goals from midfield for Bolton. That's what we need. That largely depends on price, though. As for Viduka, class act. Basically, he's saved Boro from relegation this season. Boateng's said so himself. They really are a crap team - but Viduka has just got class. He's just the sort of player we need... but i'm not going into this again. Just too good to turn down on a free, regardless of big wages. Knight, Xavier and Ljungberg... Jesusweptus.

I don't really mind - obvious improvement is the absolute minumum. But, i think we've got too good a team to be lingering in the bottom half. But if we finish 11th, 12th, yet show promising signs, i won't be too disappointed. These things take time. Remember that it took Bobby his third season to get us where we should have been. It's just that the transitional periods under Souness and Roeder were never going to come to anything, cos they were shite managers. Allardyce is a good manager. Top half, ideally.

Think Martins' performances this season have made it clear that he is by no means a 'main' striker. He's naff inside the box. Owen and Martins might still work. You've seen it twice. Under a shite manager, with one off form and one having not played for 14 months. And absolutely no idea where you got the idea that Martins wants out. Pants attempt at a wind-up, try again.

The thing that does worry me about a new manager coming in, is that there's a chance he'd like to give the likes of Bramble and Luque a chance, to see if he can improve them. But the likes of them are just beyond improvement in my opinion.
