I can't see his being cup tied being a big deal. Annoying but it'd be weirdly and uncharacteristically short-termist of us if we walked away on that basis. Why are you so against the idea (forming a judgement later)? I can absolutely recommend coming around to the way of thinking because it makes for a much less stressful transfer window.

If Schär and Botman are both out (not implausible that that happens plenty this season; Schär could get injured) we can't play out from the back against any side with a vaguely effective press. Meanwhile we don't need a new RW to form an effective attacking unit and there's stacks of evidence to support that.

Tbh I don't know how anyone can watch our game at the weekend and not deduce that it's crucial we get a CB.

That is True Faith's 'coverage' in a nutshell.

Haven't listened to Football Clichés in ages, might have to pick it up again because I literally don't like any football podcast. If we win I'll listen to Pod on the Tyne and a bit of True Faith, and then some of the mainstream weekly ones if I feel like I'm overdue shoving my foot into the car speaker, but I rarely actively enjoy anything. I listen to the Monday Night Club from time to time because Rory Smith is on it but so is Chris Sutton, which is literally the very, very ends of the spectrum. Obviously a hard agree on that one. SPM will never be topped; I still miss it a lot.

That's a very accurate visualisation of the game, like. I was starting to feel like, if we got the equaliser, we might even nick the three points. We nearly did as well (as did they). Far from perfect from us but 1-1 was a fair result.

York's early promise of a better season shattered by a miserable defeat at home to some NFL team this afternoon. Bollocks.
-
We won't sign Trafford unless at least one (probably two) of those keepers go. Howe said himself in the last presser that it could happen.
-
If I was observing the situation entirely in a vacuum - i.e. not looking on here and avoiding any other analysis - I'd be relaxed, if eager to see us do something in the transfer window before it closes. All the big hitters kept, additional depth at LB and CF, four points on the board and money in the coffers to spend.
-
For the Trafford link to have re-emerged then we're presumably losing at least one keeper, and Howe confirmed there was a chance of this in his presser. He also said there was no likelihood of Fraser leaving, which would be a pain in the arse. Got to be a wages issue because you'd have to assume there'd be a queue of Championship players interested.

Did you miss last season?
-
How?
-
Fine, Gordon, whoever. But how is there still any concern or opinion at all about Gillespie? He's there for training cos you need four goalies, that's it.
-
Ruddy replaces Karius. Trafford replaces Dubs. Vlachodimos enables us to keep Bruno.
-
Would be a great result if we're actually able to upgrade our backup goalie after all. Hopefully Dubs and PSRdimos leave.
-
We need better than Murphy if we're going to progress but it's hardly the crime of the century that he's still starting games for us, as if he's Paul Dummett or Isaac Hayden. Blame PSR if anything.

True, but the point is they're supposed to have conclusive proof of [insert infringement] in order to overturn it. I'm thinking along the lines of the Gordon winner against Arsenal last season. I've watched it a few more times to try and convince myself we've not actually been so lucky to come away with a point, and I think I'm there. I'm just saying, if it's the other way around - and I'm searching for the injustice - I'm suggesting that the evidence maybe isn't clear enough.
-
Or the extended ones. Don't get it.
-
If you told me it came off Burn I'd believe you.
-
If it definitely hits him below the shoulder then I absolutely agree with the rule, like. You can't arm it in.
-
I think if it's the other way I'm fizzing because I don’t believe the footage is absolutely conclusive in terms of where it hits him. For VAR to take two points away from a team based on imperfect evidence which requires a fair amount of assumption... it's a massive call. Absolutely the sort of thing that you should just say, nah, we shouldn't intervene here.

Away kit looks unsurprisingly much better with white shorts though the stupid swoosh does its best to ruin it. Collar on the third shirt is laughable.

To be very glass half full we've bettered our result in both of the equivalent fixtures so far, if you equate Southampton with Luton. Maybe demonstrates what we were all thinking last season, about us falling the wrong side of the margins on account of the injuries and fatigue.
