If you want to be forgiving about any aspect of our performance then you can point to our two first choice CBs being out. I like Krafth and especially Burn - but combine them with Popey and you've got a triumvirate of doom in terms of building play. Throw in a scruffy Joelinton performance and you can forget it. We resorted to punting long which was rarely better.

I doubt you'll find many in these parts who disagree with the idea that you were the better team and - of the two sides - deserved to win. We got away with it in injury time, though I feel like I haven't seen anything conclusive re the handball. But even so, that's reason enough not to disallow it.

Absolutely, probably moreso. The fact we couldn't play through their press was probably the main reason for why we were so shoddy today. Meanwhile our goal came from the right-winger, delivered by the left-winger.

Cuh I'd like to see how a CB who's really good in possession solves that!!

God it isn't half a big fucking whinge of a tune, like. Spine tingling!!

Scouse national anthem getting a full uninterrupted airing. Absolutely nauseating coverage.

Pope - 7. Important saves, problematic with the ball Tino - 6. Mopped up well Krafth - 6. Solid enough Burn - 6. Solid, ropey with the ball Kelly - 5. Unimpressive Bruno - 7. MOTM Longstaff - 6. Clumsy Joelinton - 5. Sloppy Murphy - 6. Ineffective Gordon - 7. Anonymous, until he wasn't Isak - 7. Dangerous

Feel like we haven't seen a CM kick-and-run past a defender on the wing since 2022/23. It's such a big thing to have in your midfield armory, especially if/when the wingers aren't getting any change out of the full-backs.

It was horrible. But I feel like it was probably a decent game for the neutral. I was impressed with Bournemouth. Semenyo always looks dangerous; they pressed extremely effectively and won the physical battle hands down. To some extent that reflects well on us that we've managed to grind out a point, because we really had to sort ourselves out during the game.
-
Changed the game for us; looked quick and showed a lot of technical quality. He can't beat a man by kicking it down the line but that's where Willock comes in. Very dangerous cutting in and I don't blame him for shooting; Isak would have probably been offside had he made the pass.

As usual I don't think we were terrible or embarrassing or disgraceful or Bruce-like or any of the other hyperbole you get during/after imperfect games. However, it's definitely a concern that we've immediately continued in our limp and anxious away performances. Barnes and Hall were excellent when they came on, and Willock showed glimpses, which is absolutely cause for optimism.

Absolutely no doubt we've got away with one but speaking purely in terms of the result, that's a good point against a good side and a bogey team for us. For all we were very, very ropey for an hour - I was really encouraged by the way we fought control back after the subs and got the goal our play, at that time, deserved. Less said about the final scenes the better. We've been very lucky indeed.

Red card my plums

Felt like we were good value for a point but can't complain with a defeat. Been second best for the majority of the game.

Playing with a lot of anxiety. Painful viewing.

Plausible that a trip to Australia, a trip to Germany and a trip to Japan hasn't made for the most appropriate off-season? Or am I searching for excuses?

Truly miserable occasion so far. Alarmed by how much of a passenger Gordon appears to be. Bournemouth playing extremely well; pressing effectively and not only winning the physical battle, but making it look easy. Shirt looks absolutely ridiculous and is winding me up no end.
-
Meh, horrendous. Been rubbish since the first 10/15.
-
They've got the game well under control tbf.
-
Brilliant from Krafthy
-
Hate their daft yellow pitch and low cam.
-
Hideously nervous. HTL.
-
Not to mention he's literally just come from the opponents.
-
At least with Liverpool playing later it means we avoid Drury.

I could stomach Trippier going to Everton a little easier if we ended up with DCL. Still think he'd be an underrated transfer.
