  1. Gorgeous footwork from Musiala, mind. Quality goal tbf. I would like Newcastle United to sign him if poss, cheers.
  2. Scots getting bullied here, like. Don't love to see it, an upset would've been fun.
  3. Very glad we've hidden that dreadful shorts design.
  4. What an uninspiring backdrop ITV have gone for with their studio, btw.
  5. Was just coming here to make that point. Genuinely something in that I reckon. So fecking miserable.
  6. I was thinking the same. Mrs and I were searching through the various TV apps last night just to find anything at all to get hyped; couldn't find a thing beyond the very earnest Gazetta Football-style magazine show in ITVX. I'm craving a bit of Fantasy Football-style banter build-up. Got me wondering if it's a symptom of the relentless football calendar. There's no breathing space to build the hype train; the season feels like it's never really finished, with the European finals and friendlies.
  7. He was 19 unless he changed before he went.
  8. He has played there a fair bit but once their team was settled he was CAM, with Madueke on the right. Who knows what the new manager will do but you'd assume they'd build around him (Palmer). Tbf he could be guaranteed a maximum of six starts, he'd still go to Chelsea. It's a vile club to most of us but probably as desirable as it gets to a young footballer. Hence why they've got about four million of them.
  9. Straight shoot-out with Madueke isn't it? You'd think he'll probably oust him no bother, not that I don't rate Madueke.
  10. Pointless giving it any thought when Chelsea are involved. He'll obviously go there. They'll offer him the most money, he'll go straight into the team and he will be able to stay in London.
  11. 91 goals in 226 games for Villa, Chelsea and Roma before he did his ACL. Got to be a player in there. I'd be well up for it, personally.
  12. Have no major beef with clubs going a bit mad with stripes designs, particularly Palace as they often seem to, but don't really rate that effort. Preferred that scribbly attempt from last season. Also bring on 26/27 and the jettisoning of miserable gambling sponsors.
  13. On balance I think he'd probably stay with us but chances like that are pretty rare, and England should have a decent run at the World Cup in two years' time. Think you're a bit naive if you're absolutely certain he wouldn't entertain it.
  14. Thankfully Southgate is going to win us the Euros and be allowed a final crack at the WC. Nothing to see here.
  15. I'd be surprised if the squad love him, mind. Seems very cold and uncharismatic.
  16. His credibility (in terms of Newcastle stuff) took a fair whack with the Joao Pedro stuff for me.
  17. Not sure how comfortable I feel about the medical being undertaken that close to employees of Chelsea FC.
  18. Trafford update from Hope, among the Kelly stuff.
  19. Conference-tastic. Shame because the recent efforts with Puma were so tidy and incorporated subtle graphic designs. This is just basic as ferk.
  20. It's an interesting decision, and one that I assume they didn't particularly want to make. I find the managerial landscape a bit strange atm. Really exceptional managers - capable of challenging for the biggest honours - are seemingly a rare thing in the era of Pep and Klopp. Teams with aspirations of the top want the manager who's going to catch those two but, in realty, they probably don't exist. So you either chop and change and throw shit until it sticks, or you stick with what you've got and cross your fingers that it's a slow build and they crack it. Meanwhile, you count your blessings if you're fortunate enough to have someone who is beautifully aligned to your ambitions and goals (see us, Villa, Chel... oh wait yeah ). Will be very interesting to see where Man Utd go from here. Obviously they were hopelessly flawed last season and 8th is a terrible finish for them. Their injury crisis was almost as bad as ours though.
  21. Yeah Pearce got the other. Remember it really well because it was televised and therefore will have literally been one of the first full games I ever saw.
  22. With us missing out on Tosin I wouldn't be surprised if we've been a bit more flexible in negotiations when it comes to contract length.
