I think nearly 40 years of use just about qualifies it as historic. Certainly if you're using 'historic' as a (sort of) synonym of identity.
  2. They've got four of the league's top five in their upcoming fixtures too (including us). Hopefully they'll be another team we can distance ourselves from over January.
  3. You got away with murder in that cup semi. There was fuck all wrong with Coventry's winner.

If he ends up back at Chelsea I'd assume that part of their motivation is just to stop us from getting him. I assumed the same with Tosin. They're allowed to do that whilst we have to sweat over every decision.
  5. Without knowing loads about him I hadn't expected Lopetegui to be such a disaster. My recollection is that Wolves fans were sad and angry when he decided it was pointless him staying there. Did well there and Sevilla... seemed a clear upgrade on Moyes. Hasty decision or just obviously a bad fit?
  6. I think there's a mental toll which will marinate the longer a streak goes on. The expectation and desire to keep the run going becomes more and more amplified at the expense of the 'one game at a time' mantra which characterises the early part of the sequence. Then a shit result comes along. So the preceding results do have an impact to some extent imo. I distinctly remember an inexplicable defeat at home to a shit Blackburn under Rafa which lost us some record.
  7. Feels incredibly like it's in our grasp now given the fixtures ahead. Chewsea needs to present a cautionary tale though. They've been going great guns for months, looking arguably like the only other title contenders, but form can disappear in a moment. There's a serious mental challenge ahead of us now to maintain this brilliant run; we will drop points somewhere along the line so we need to ensure that doesn't derail us.

Aye, seemed to be flapping a lot in the highlights from yesterday.
  9. In a way it's good to have the Bruno situation taken out of our hands because I thought he started to look quite leggy yesterday. I think we might come unstuck after such a gruelling schedule with a lot of time spent on the road. Lose by one, but still in the tie.
  10. Winning from behind on the road not for the first time this season. Such a good team. Wouldn't have begrudged Spurs the point had they found an equaliser, but they didn't. No idea why they'd feel 'hard done by'. Create better chances, lads.
  11. Think he was totally vindicated again tbh. Porro's crosses were a threat but ultimately we didn't look like conceding in the last throes of the game. Managed it well.
  12. Love this team so much. For all he looked a sensible sub for a lot of that second half, Big Joe was huge for us as we closed it out
  13. Brilliant result. Ugly second half but ultimately there wasn't many scares. Not too dissimilar to ManU. GET IN.
  14. Infuriating the amount of times we've held onto it too long
  15. Eh? He's smashed him and got nowhere near the ball?
  16. Annoying we've haven't punished them but we're in total control there. Started very ropey but grew into it and more than worth the lead.
