  2. reminds of me when ex scummer Chris Makin signed for Marseille years ago.....another strange transfer
  3. hoping there will be some last minute panic buying for Smith and Duff....saying that we can`t afford to lose more bodies without any replacements though
  4. are you joking? Joaquin in his Betis days looked great but he`s been one of the most expensive flops in La Liga when he signed for Valencia
  5. Smith would feel a bit left out
  6. It was posted on the chronicle forum i think its bullshit http://forums.chroniclelive.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=11874 This sort of crap about now gets me all hyped up, my brain tells me this is just a load of cobblers but my heart, the b****** that it is wants to believe it so much that, I be watching the clock religously till 6pm your time. That's why WUM should be tracked down by their IP address and put in stocks abnd stoned to within an inch of their life. It`s 6pm
  7. Hamburg signed German intl and Bayern left back Marcell Jansen Would have been very happy if we had got him but I didnt think Bayern would be willing to let him go at all
  8. Agreed. nowt spectacular but would be a solid signing. How about Wigan`s right winger, Valencia?
  9. we shouldn`t feel under pressure to sell him......we should only let him leave IF we get a adequate replacement in time. If not, tough $hit he has to stay and bear with it or do what they did with Solano......take one of their players on loan at least like Barry
  10. nah it`s Lucho Gonzalez ,Angel Di Maria or Quaresma o fill the right sided berth(I wish)
  11. Does Milner have a sell on clause in his contract from when he signed from Leeds? I was reading comments by the current Leeds chairman the other day that they might be entitled to a windfall on an ex players of theirs that could be on his move.........assuming he was talking about Milner. Will try to find the link if needed
  12. aye such as Villa themselves. Hold out for 12m or swap for Barry
  13. not bothered tbh.....delighted if we get 9m for him but maybe we can ask a bit more for him seeing how he`s English and all I assume he`s off to Villa then but he`s not going to get in ahead of their current wingers Agbonlahor and Young?
  14. what do you think of Vince Grella? Blackburn signed him for 4m and is a defensive midfielder. I`ve read good reviews about him so they might have a good player on their hand and at a good price? and Troisi is still without a club?
  15. Newcastle and Aston Villa are keeping tabs on Standard Liege midfielder Marouane Felliani, although they could be put off by the Belgian club's £10m price tag. (Daily Mail) Heneage, is he any good?
  16. Hughes said he bought Kompany to play as a defensive midfielder.... only as defender in emergency
  17. Baros to Galatasaray Betis have signed Benfica`s nelson for 5m euro.....bargain
  18. tbf, Maric was top class when he played against us for Dynamo Zagreb in the CL qualifier and I`m sure many of you after that performance would have taken him........he was linked with alot of big clubs before us ala Viana too
  19. they`re his hometown club ala Shearer which is why he they have some pull
  20. how long is Carroll out for? Might be worth trying Lua Lua out. He did well enough on his debut last season
  21. Aug 25 2008 by Alan Oliver, Evening Chronicle MICHAEL OWEN insists he will continue to be a “head boy” – but he is not sure whether he will be able to do it at Coventry City in tomorrow’s Carling Cup tie. http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/nufc/newcastle-united-news/2008/08/25/owen-s-delight-at-scoring-return-72703-21599198/
  22. true that regarding Dida especially.....the same can be said of the English keepers too. We used to produce some of the best around but look at what we`re reduced to now
  23. STEVEN Taylor says he is already talking the same language as his new defensive partner Fabricio Coloccini on the pitch. The pair kept their first clean sheet in only their second game together in Saturday's 1-0 win over Bolton Wanderers at St James's Park. Coloccini does not speak English, but Taylor – who uses the Argentine's countryman Jonas Gutierrez as a translator in the dressing room – believes the pair are letting their feet to the talking on the pitch. Taylor told the Gazette: "I thought defensively we did OK through the game. Fabricio watches my back, and I watch his. Basically, we just try to keep it tight. "Defensively, the club has always got a lot of stick over the years, but we're getting a good little partnership going, and long may that continue." http://www.shieldsgazette.com/nufc/Language-barrier-no-problem-for.4423573.jp
  24. Would that be Damien Escudero who played for Velez (not River Plate?) and was just bought by Villarreal and loaned out to Real Valladolid that`s him....didn`t realise he`d just moved. Well anyway, Villareal have got themselves a good player
