  1. don`t particularly like any of the teams but I wouldn`t mind Chelsea winning it this time purely because Man U have won it a couple times already
  2. maybe not realistic but worth a punt for Lucho Gonzalez Nelsen of Benfica as competition for right back
  3. we haven`t been given 4m yet man....... don`t tempt fate!
  4. I wouldn`t mind Darren Bent here if we can get him for a decent price. If Berbatov leaves I`m not sure Spurs will let him go though.
  5. supposedly after Luis Filipe Scolari
  6. Newcastle want West Ham striker Dean Ashton, and are also interested in Everton left-back Leighton Baines and Rangers defender Carlos Cuellar. Spaniard Cuellar could be landed as part of a swap deal involving £5m-rated Alan Smith. (Various) bbc gossip
  7. which one? Mahamadou, Alou or Lassana Diarra? They`ve all been mentioned on this thread
  8. not really arsed....hoping we go for someone way better than Sidwell anyway
  9. Wash your mouth out! `We`ve got Mirandinha, he`s not from Argentina, he`s from Brazil, he`s fkin bril!`
  10. don`t think there are any really intimidating grounds (in the UK ) anymore tbh I`d think twice about going to some Eastern European, Southern Europe, South American grounds though....crackers over there http://www.footballfancast.com/blog/premiership/celtic-newcastle-united-liverpool-rangers-leeds-united-who-h/3255
  11. how about Niko Kranjar? Portsmouth have shown in the past that they sell when the price is right....not sure how much Kranjar would cost mind 11 goals in 17 games for Sao Paulo The Brazilian league is quite different from the Premiership. Romario scored goals there until he was 42! Teddy Sheringham was scoring in the Premiership when he was 41 Are we really going to have a debate about the quality of the Premiership vs the quality of the Brazilian league? If people think the EPL is a physical league then you should see the Brazilian league. Some of the fouls committed there (and not get cautioned) make the EPL look like a ballet
  12. not sure about having Adebayor ahead of Santa Cruz. Yes he`s scored a bundle of goals but those goals and performances have really tailed off in the 2nd half of the season. Santa Cruz has been consistent all season IMO and has not had the ton of service that Adebayor enjoys
  13. would be happy with that, Valencia coming and Carr pi$$ing off. Not sure who will be willing to pay Lucas Neill the astronomical wages he`s on
  14. bringing back the Koeman `outcasts` will be key to Valencia surviving. their experience will no doubt help
  15. Maduro is an average player according to Ajax fans..........as for Joaquin......good player on his day but those days are a rarity. Too inconsistent....makes L.Robert look like a workhorse
  16. bit disappointed about KK not being keen on South American players. I know there`s alot of average players but you can pick up some gems over there.
  17. Newcastle stretch unbeaten run to seven as they come from behind to draw with luckless West Ham West Ham had to be content with a point from their 500th Barclays Premier League fixture............ http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/sport/football.html?in_article_id=562248&in_page_id=1779
  18. I think Benayoun would be a good target. I know he scored today but he`s not regular by all means. Depending on who Liverpool sign I think he`d be a realistic target plus he`s proven in the EPL.
  19. if the Modric story is bollox I wouldn`t mind us trying for Daniel Carvalho.....who City are supposed to be after. Another top playmaker but doesn`t get as much recognition as he plays in Russia....definitely more realistic. Played for Brasil a number of times but having the likes of Kaka and Diego ahead of him doesnt help
  20. 1.Diego 2.Modric 3.Deco (too old)
  21. Mind Kranjcar and Eduardo have turned out well in the prem and Modric is supposed to be better than them both. yeah if he does sign it might take a while to settle as it did for Kranjcar and Eduardo (well he`s Brasilan really anyway)
  22. I`d be more than happy with Modric for the fact that there seem to be a lack of decent playmakers around these days.......and Modric is one of the few that spring to mind. Bit wary though that eastern europeans don`t have a great track record in the EPL. When we signed Silvio Maric he was touted as a top class playmaker but he turned out rubbish. Was bloody impressive though when he played against us for Zagreb! Certainly though modric is a step up from the likes of Koumas (people on this board were touting for him I seem to remember)
  23. I remember people on this board were clamouring for us to sign Kuyt at the time we were on the lookout for another striker during the Roeder era. People changed their tune quickly not long after
