He deserves bashing for spending more money (net) than anyone else in the country since he took over yet getting nowhere near the title. And that money was spend on a squad that had already cost a fortune for Houllier to put together. If it wasn't for the flukiest cup final win ever in 2005 he would have already been out of a job by now. I don't think a lot of people realise how much he's spent...It is a fuckload!

They've been barely hanging on with Champion's League money. Take it away and they simply cannot finance themselves. I could not give a damn about the first one. If Ashley spends enough and oversees the resolidification of us as a Premiership then thngs will be alight. The past can be forgotten. The future is the concern. Fair post. There are a lot of things I dislike about him, but one thing I'm sure of is that if we get promotion and start giving fair performances many of us might have to reconsider out attitude toward him, especially if he is here for a few years.
