  1. Can they afford it? Can they afford not too? The simple fact is that the squad isn't good enough though. I know that's down to him, but it means there's nothing to say the new guy would do much better. If they have to pay him off and don't get CL either, that's a lot of brass lost. They might just see it out and try force him out in the summer. If the squad isn't good enough you have to wonder why considering the amount of money Rafa has spent. How much did he pay for Robbie Keane? To be fair there, Robbie Keane was bought behind Rafa's back. Which is why Keane failed there, because Rafa didn't want to use him. Think Keane in the hole would have done wonders for them...SG has to do too much as it is.

  3. By my reconing the Glazers look like much bigger vultures than Cashley. I also find it strange that Fergie is being so diplomatic.
  4. Last time I looked we were losing about a million a month.
  5. Man u not winnning anything and Liv not getting in the Cl is the ideal scenario. Both clubs stacked with debt.
  6. Only the sale of Ronaldo saved them posting a massive loss.
  7. Won't be allowed in the CL if the new rules on debt come in.
  8. The only clubs that regularly have made a real profit over the last decade are Arsenal, Villa and Spurs. All well run and resonably replenish the first team with good youth systems. A mix of these three should be our model.
  9. Freddy Shepherd, Sir John Hall and their families, the former major shareholders of Newcastle United, made almost £146m from their years at St James' Park, according to figures released by the club. The accounts for the year to 30 June 2008 provided a final inventory of the two families' earnings, because they sold their shares and left the board after Mike Ashley took over Newcastle in June 2007. The Halls, who owned a larger stake than Freddy Shepherd and his brother, Bruce, made £95,748,570 in total from selling their shares, salaries and dividends, while the Shepherds made £50,099,604 altogether.
  10. "The MU Finance plc prospectus, launched in the City yesterday, sets out the fortune the Glazer family have reaped from the club they borrowed £540m to buy. From 1 July 2006, in five separate payments, a round total of £10m was paid in "management and administration fees" to companies affiliated to the Glazers. Under the new bond issue, the family is entitled to be paid up to £6m by United in management and administration fees. On 30 June last year, United entered into a consultancy agreement with SLP Partners, "a company related to certain of our ultimate shareholders", to pay up to £2.9m. On top of that, on 19 December 2008, each of Malcolm Glazer's five sons and one daughter, all of whom are directors of Red Football Limited, each personally borrowed about £1.66m from the club, a total of £10m. Added together, the management fees, consultancy agreement maximum and the £10m the six family members actually borrowed from United make a total of £22.9m paid to the family and their affiliated companies in three and a half years. No explanation was offered yesterday for these fees, or for why the Glazer family felt the need to borrow £10m from Manchester United. The Glazer family's official spokesman, who is responsible for discussing United's financial affairs, declined to comment." Interest payments are currently at £67m a year. And it looks like the whole Glazer family are at the trough to the tune of £23m a year payments to various entitites they run.
  11. You forget he has the brains of a duck.
  12. Spring will reveal a fresh crop of Ashley birds.
  13. Wolves player sent off. Basically something like this is the only way Liv could have gotten summat from the game. Out of ideas and not a creative spark in sight.
  14. Getting out fought at home by wolves. What exactly is Aqua all about?
  15. We deserved it. Doddering around with the ball and no urgency.
  16. This is a good analysis from there: Rafa's idea of a flair player is a fullback. This won't even help us put constant pressure against a bellow average confident Pompey side who haven't got even paid. In this kind of games players like Dossena, Kuyt, Lucas will destroy any balance we have in the side. We simply won't be able to have any flow whatsoever in our game. It was so obvious that it made me cry. We were so so predictable that Torres and Gerrard looked out of sorts all game long. They simply were not able to receive no quality balls throughout the game. The sad thing is that Rafa's willing to risk players when they are obviously not fully fit like Gerrard and Torres during periods this season but he's not willing to go out all guns blazing against the weakest team in Premier League. Even if Aquilani is injured you can always put Gerrard next to Mascherano and put Benny behind Torres. Even Ryan Fuckin.g Babel instead of Kuyt or Dossena would had made us tons of times more dangerous than we looked. The sad thing is that during the last three seasons we've seen numerous times when Rafa was too defensive against weak teams, but chose not to look up to it
