He scores againt Peteborough Dog and Duck Academicals and people get their wanking gloves out.

I had no doubt that testing the depth of feeling in this thread would throw up a fair amount of hatred towards Ashley. But a strange thought crossed my mind a few weeks ago when I realised MA actually didn't really want to sell the club...What if by some strange reverse universal law he actually started getting things right??

Gave up all the stadium naming bollocks, took his logo off the ground, got us promoted, spent this Jan and again in the summer and got in a manager you're all happy with for the PL campaign next year...........Would he be forgiven?

Ouch. Just having a read of the 'Pool fans reaction, mainly why us, footballs shit, were cursed, were so hard done by, justice for the hamstring, but found one gem: "Just operate on Voronin, even though he doesn't need an operation."

Love to see what happens when we actually start 'coming good'.

They've run into trouble in the CL this year and might not even qualify next year if Man City get their act together. Big debts, large interest payments and Yank cunts running things. RIP Liverpool.

Average pace, can't cross, can't shoot, can't be arsed.

Like what, in your opinion? Going off the rest of your post and many others lately, things seem pretty positive. I wasn't thinking of anything in particular that's happening at the moment. I just meant that the things to get worked up about are the performances and attitudes of players, managers and owners, results on the pitch etc etc. The name of the stadium isn't that important to me. Obviously things aren't great at the moment because we're in the Championship, but in the circumstances I think Ashley taking the club off the market and re-committing himself is a good move. If nothing else, there aren't any more positive alternatives. It beggers belief that you think he is committed to the club.

This cannot pass.

Imagine if we still had Zoggy and Milner, we really would piss this league.
-
Nobody has proven to have the 100m that is clear. But there still are renegade moneybags looking for PL clubs.
-
Club won't be sold till we're back in the PL. MA would be a fool to sell it now and miss out on another 100m from PL status.

More Black managers will come through over the next decade. Unfortunately Barnes and Ince aren't really much good.

I dunno about great mind, seemed to me thy wanted a mid table side bring young talent on and flogg it. We would have never acheived anything under these as they would have sold every bit of talent. We'd have become a feeder club. How long would it have been before fans got pissed off if hey started flogging our young talent regualry, they made a massive assumption that NUFC fans will turn up 50k a week no matter what management do. Wrong I have to agree that with the benefit of hindsight this certainly seems to be the plan Ashley and Mort had in mind. Nurture young stars and sell them at a profit. West Ham produced Lampard, Rio Ferdinand, Joe Cole, Michael Carrick etc yet sold them all early in their careers. It's a model that doesn't really get you anywhere unless you can hang onto those players. I think the sale of Milner and N'Zogbia, our only two young and promising talents, showed our intentions. Bet Wise did a fair bit of sqeaking at those meetings whilst brandishing Utube clips....

Mort - Spiv 3 (from TF). For some the softer, more acceptable face of the Ashley operation but for me and in my opinion as dishonest as the rest. The Freshfields lawyer may have got out at the right time and was not around when the real big shit hit the fan but he was around when KK and Wise were appointed and he did give evidence to the panel and appears happy for his name to be associated with the “public relations exercises” described to the panel. Public relations? Or organised lying? Mort made it his business to court fanzine lads and on a couple of occasions, along with people from The Mag, nufc.com and others, tf was invited for a pint and some pork scratchings in Shearer’s Bar. Some may yet seek to defend Mort but if the maxim of judging a man by the company he keeps is followed then Mort is damned. He was affable but there were certain questions we asked which he was not comfortable with which have nagged ever since. Why did Mort pass on the question: “what does a successful Newcastle United look like to Mike Ashley?” Mort got more from the publicity from those meetings with fanzines than we ever did. Part of a public relations con? Taken for saps? That’s certainly how I view it and have done for some time. Ever think you’ve been conned? Yes. Not as blameless and squeaky clean as we imagined?

Good post. To think the cunt Wise was reportedly on £1m a year for his expert advise. -
Moat has no money and I remain doubtful about a backer.

It must be clear to all but the most deluded of gibbons that KK perceviered to get the judgment and all the facts out into the open regardless of cost or settlement. if it were anybody else, everybody would say he was holding out for more money. you'd think if money was no object he'd just have told all to the press straight away and challenged ashley to sue. On the contrary working with the LMA was the correct path and has also the added bonus of setting a precedent for years to come.
