See what you're saying, but would be good to start unchanged. Stop Geremi taking set pieces would be a step forward.

CD' s don't really mature till they are 26+.

Enrique is class. No worries whatsoever about him. And Beye will settle down after a few more PL games, just needs to get the pace a bit.

Not really at all sure what the Spurs gameplan was.

Very solid and Cacapa is a born reader of the game.

I'd like to see Emre move up 10 yards and Zoggy release the ball a bit earlier. Otherwise we've basically dominated. Dawson has been horrific as has Jenas. Lennon and Berb to deal with yet so we need to keep our concentration.

He needs to get away.

I think Faye is the type o defender we've been crying out for for years too, i.e. - a big strong centre-back. blueyes.gif

For me this is the first MUST WIN game of the season.

Sensible approach. I think some people are narked cause of the price tag and opinions would be different if we'd paid 3/4million. Never thought Smudger would stir up such emotions.

Lennon missed the Liverpool game through injury, but should be back for tonight. I imagine it'll be something like this: Cerny Chimbonda Kaboul Dawson Bale Lennon Jenas Zokora Tainio Berbatov Keane Usually we'd play Bale LW but I'm not sure Jol will want to play both Lennon and Bale on the wings. Might leave us a little exposed. To be honest though I think we're best just going for it, because we can't defend to save our lives! This has high scoring game written all over it.

agree, still a good team despite their position and they deserved to win at Anfield. i remember last season they started poorly too but still finished 5th at the end of the season. I'm worried about Bale up against Beye who positionally looks awkward, think we'll need Milner or Geremi to put in a lot of defensive work down the right. Likewise for Lennon against Enrique though despite his lack of pace i think he'll make his physical presence count. Personally i'm a bit worried Spurs will get the win they need and if they take the lead we have a job on our hands because their pace and movement will exploit our defence when we push up. on the other hand if we score first and Spurs commit too many forward, we could score plenty as we've seen how porous their defence is. i also think they lack presence in the middle and leadership all over the park so i think their heads might drop if we get the likes of Faye to batter them, stuff starts going our way, the ref is hard on them, jenas misses open goals and so on. with both of us leaking goals but scoring liberally there should be lots of chances for both sides. i think it will close and probably decided by a single goal separating the two teams, bit like the Everton game. They will be more anxious to get something from this game and that is something that can work to our advantage. The longer the game goes without them scoring the better. The player to unsettle is Keane who has stymied his critics of late. If someone, ideally Butt/Faye or Geremi can give him a really hard kick in the first half he'll spend the rest of the match whinning to the ref and we'll take control. Spurs for me is all about Keane at the moment he is the touchstone and has made it his personal goal to keep Jol (who has stuck by him) in the job. The way to beat Spurs is to take charge of the central midfield and we have the players to do that and make them play around us giving them a tempo disadvantage as they have to make an extra two or three passes to get into dangerous areas and ultimately all crosses become 50/50 balls if the def is correctly marshalled. On the other hand I'd like to see us attack with agility and quick thinking not giving their cd's a chance to reposition against O2 and be caught turning or running alongside...These for me will be the early signs as soon as you see them dropping off or being pulled wide the panick will set in and Owen for shure is the ghost who can apply the silent finish.

There actually isn't that much wrong with Spurs. Sooner or later the side will come together probably when King returns in the next few weeks. Robinson has had a poor start to the season and thier midfield is too soft for the moment and they've clearly missed Lennon. My two predictions are that Keane will score and the game will be a draw. Hope I'm wrong on both counts.

yeh your mate 'clatts' did well if you dont include the following: Not giving Everton 2 stone wall penalties Not sending off Dirk 'karate kid' kuyt Getting influenced by the moody twat Gerrard Not booking the even moodier twat Carragher a long time before he did Giving every 50/50 decision Pools way Kuyt should have been sent off. Gerrard fell over cause he didn't want to shoot with his left. Not a penalty. Yellow for Gerrard really. Carraghers constant waving of his arms and holding his head at every descision are the actions of a man who already realises Liverpool will win win nothing this year.

2 pens spare Bumbling Bennies Blushes.

Nailed on, then. As long as we give him shit loads of grief he'll buckle sooner rather than later. We should target him and not let up, 3pts in the bag if we do. blueyes.gif

That would be nice.

Part of the problem is that Butt and Geremi are a bit dim.

As a Liverpool fan I read this and wonder if you're actively seeking an implosion at your club. Anelka - great talent, bad attitude - he wants to play in the CL and if say he joined you in Jan and this time next year you were 8th or 9th you would see a lot of stories of him wanting to move on to a "bigger" club. As for Diouf.. talented player but will be nothing but trouble if he doesn't get his way. We had both and believe me you'll regret it if one or both are at your club next year. p.s. Samuel Eto'o tried to get his agent to get him a move to Anfield because he wanted to play with Owen. Houllier turned a £6m deal down and instead paid £10m for Diouf! I wouldn't have any concerns with either under Allardyce who had no problem keeping the pair under control and happy, especially Diouf who when Sam left Bolton said he cried. They like Sam especially Diouf.

There has a been a lot of myth making and snide journalism around Anelka. At the end of the day he is a quality striker.

Nobody? You're wrong there, like. There are quite a few who could see reasons for having him here.
