  1. Is it just me, or is it a bit strange that the club has said absolutely NOTHING? All we've had is a small article saying that Allardyce has left on mutual terms, but that's it. I'm not complaining really, I think I'd rather have this than Shepherds gloating, just think it's a bit odd
  2. Every time I see "refuses" in the thread-title I think it's that he's refused to sign a contract with us
  3. I agree with the OP. Though it may seem likely that something is going on with Redknapp, given how many papers are reporting it, by now we should've seen something more concrete on the matter.
  4. Yesterday I thought for a bit that it was going to be McClaren. Thankfully, I don't think there's a snowballs chance in hell that it'll be him today No you didn't, you didn't have a clue who it was going to be. On the plus side, mate, there's only a few who do. Of course I didn't have a proper clue, that doesn't mean I didn't THINK there wasn't anyone who was in pole-position. Glad you shared! What's up your arse?
  5. Have a feeling you may very well be right
  6. Not very nice reading. Good thing is that they don't have a clue.

  9. Last game last season, can't even remember who it was against. After we had sacked Roeder and didn't have a replacement yet. This is a close second though.
  10. Putting words in his mouth tbh. I bet the question was: "Do you think Alan Shearer would be a good coach for Newcastle?". Martins wouldn't say "BRRRAAAAAAAAP, NO".

Just came in to this thread to say the same thing. Of course, we don't know how much truth there is that in those quotes that says Allardayce was sacked for his boring football or how much weight Ashley really puts into it (he can't be daft enough to say no to Mourinho because his football isn't sexy enough, can he?)
  12. Find it a bit strange that Mort has always said that we're looking for a long-term solution etc, everything he's has made a whole lot of sense. Up til now. Talks about sacking the manager for us wanting to play more attractive football doesn't really make much sense to me. Fair enough, we've been utter, utter garbage this season, but the sacking is a total contradiction from all that Mort has said previously. Btw, I'm still not decided on whether I agree with the sacking or not. If we have a top-drawer lined up, then it was the right thing to do, if not we should've sticked with Sam
  13. What the fuck are you doing back here?

Destined for Milan, unfortunately. Think he's got some respect for us as a club though, mostly cause of his Robson-influence.
  15. They've got good contacts. They knew Sam was going to be sacked before he did...they don't just make things up and stick it on the yellow banner. I'm not falling for that one just yet. Read Crumpy's "Allardyce Wants Out" post, and numerous other tidbits that have emerged today/recently: i.e. "MUTUAL AGREEMENT" being a fairly big clue. Are we assuming that SSN asked Sam this at 5pm, he goes up to see Mort to ask if it's true (was Allardyce at SJP already, btw? If so, why?), who says, "well, we're a bit fed up, shall we call it a day mate?" Then he agrees, they embrace, and he leaves with a nice little sentence or two about the club? Then there's a statement on NUFC.co.uk at around 5.40pm with quotes from both gaffer and chairman... did this all happen within the hour? Aye. It's more likely that Allardyce did know, but couldn't/wouldn't say.
  16. I've now come to the conclusion that I will back pretty much any manager, brittish or otherwise, as long as it's not mclaren. He's a fucking joke, worse than Souness and Roeder.
  17. Didn't they actually say that they aren't searching abroad? Clutching at straws here, but that would at least open some doors...Rafa? Fuck, I just really don't want it to be mclaren
  18. Fucking hell!! Terrible, terrible news!!
  19. Agree with this. Can't say I've seen that much of him, but from what I've seen, he seems like a very good player. Good age as well, will still be wanting to prove himself which is a good thing. Like TT says though, we'll need a creative player too to compliment him.
