That's what I've been told. Though I think his right isn't much worse than left.
-
Look at the relief mixed with happiness at Oba's face!

About the 10 milions, you should take in consideration that he is only 21 and should have atleast a decade of top-footballing ahead of him. Good investment, IMO
-
He is, but he is not going to be what many fans are hoping for/expecting, and therefore many will be dissappointed. I was just trying to get this thread back to topic His name hadn't been mentioned for one and a half pages...

So... Martins is starting to look like a quality player, no?
-
I reckon Martins will score against West Ham.
-
Do you think that that 'nervousness' (for want of a better word) transmits itself over to the player? I always feel that the edginess of the crowd can get to new players and it reflects in their own performances. I think its going to be interesting at West Ham, we need a result of some sorts and Roeder must have worked out how to start getting the best out of him? Surely? I think it can yeah. Not with Martins yet though because there's no vocal disapproval to speak of. This is gonna sound bad, but I would almost prefer it if we didn't have this UEFA Cup game tomorrow - it's providing the board and the manager with a chance to release some of the pressure that's building up because we're playing a pub team. It's a chance that they don't deserve. I'm not saying I don't want us to win btw, just that I want to see the pressure ratcheted up on the wankers in charge at NUFC to make them feel as uncomfortable as they have with us. Gives Martins a chance to score and settle here and the rest of the players to gain some confidence. I think this game is just what we need (if it goes down the way it should)

We got Sibiersky for the same amount of money as Duff? I wasn't disapointed at first, because I reckoned we got him for about 500k-1m. A joke if this is our last signing!
-
I remember being VERY impressed with his first game and the limited time he played v Fulham. Then he got injured and has shown some very small sparks of quality (Lilleström goal). I still have hope in him though
-
Why sell him now when he's starting to improve on the pitch? We won't get much money from him, probably not even half of what we payed. So, IMO let him shine vs Ventspils and then let Shola rest on Sunday and see how Martins and Luque works together v Villa

I can't believe you who are not excited about the new season! Sure, our team is not as good as it should be, but we will still see some good football from the lads. I can't wait for kick-off tomorrow, and I'll just be listening to it on the radio!

Where will we finish? 8th Will Roeder still be our manager in January? Yes Which of our younger/fringe players (if any) will make a name for himself this season and why? N'Zogbia, even though he made a name for himself last year. Will Dyer play more than 5 games for us this season? Yes Will Shola score more goals than he did last season? Yes Will we get to see the real Albert Luque or will he continue to disappoint? He'll land at about 10-15 goals. Whether that's a disapointment or not, I'll leave open Who will be the star of our defence ('keeper included)? Given And midfield? Duff And up front? Martins How many new players will we sign before the close of this transfer window? 2, Martins and Bridge And how many will leave? 0 How many times will "Shearer-Shearer" be chanted this season? 65 Who will flop for us this season? Solano Who will outshine all others? Given Will Owen make an appearance before the season is over? No Will an attendance drop below the 50,000 mark for a league game for the first time since SJP was rebuilt? No Will we go the season without any off-field dramas/headlines of the name through mud variety? No Will we win something this year? No How far in all the cups, then? Quarter finals in UEFA and FA Nicky Butt - will he win you over? No Will we miss Shearer this season? No Are you excited about the new season? Definately!!!

It's us that should be unhappy, mate Doesn't say much, does it
-
thought there were lots of swedes here? well, im the first to vote in this poll anyways
-
I dont actually think that Luque was dropped because he'd be cup-tied. The MAIN reason was because Roeder wanted to play a five man midfield. Then, ofource, Roeder rather played Ameobi, which is definately going to stay, rather than Luque. I expect to see Luque on the pitch against Wigan
-
Am I the only one that notices how HTL contradicts himself? He said that something about us not seeing Luque in training, that Roeder was the only one who did that and therefore he was the one to decide on whether or not he was good enough. Then you also keep talking about how Luque is heartless and that he had a bad attitude, however, Roeder did during his time as manager last season never say anything but how Luque tried his best in training.
-
Thanks, kind words To be fair though, the blood that runs through my veins are as much Geordie as Swedish. But still, I support the Toon more than my local team in Sweden, AIK (which are known to have the most loyal fans in Sweden, btw )

jesus wept, i don't believe you! I go to games every week here and i know perfectly well the differences between live and tv and yes i do feel EXACTLY as qualified if i watch a game on tv as if i were there. fact. perhaps you need glasses or something if you don't get a good enough look when you're watching games on the tv, it's not like the camera zooms in on the ball all the time or that if you are there at the stadium that you watch what every player without the ball is doing, you pay most of your attention to the man with the ball.
-
Sorry I have lost interest discussing with you. Oh, thats a shame, because your absolutely groundless statement about why i didn't like Luque, in total disregard for the numerous reasons i had already given, made me REALLY interested in discussing stuff with you. I doubt you've even seen him play for us in the flesh, but you seem qualified to speak about the way he plays. Let me guess, you think you can get as good an idea from the TV? Wrong. You're acually saying that your point is more valid because you see the game in flesh? That has got to be dumbest remark i have read No, what i'm saying is that you get a much better view of what is going on in a game, positionally, off the ball, of the game in total, live that on TV. Thats fucking obvious. You obviously think you are "better" qualified to have an opinion in the matter because you attend the games. Remember, we see a fair bit on the tele that you in the stands don't see. As i said, i don't even know what side of the argument you are on, but you're argument just makes me sick
