  1. First one was him pulling Tiote fairly deep in our half on our left hand side when we were about to start a counter attack IIRC, definite booking.
  2. For the sake of our travelling fans, I really hope we don't get Kazan, surely we've had enough of travels to the east after Ukraine and Russia.
  3. I love his running, both when chasing a ball and when trying to find space. Whether that will translate to how he will turn out as a player only time will tell, but so far so good. There's definitely something special about having a young local lad come on to the pitch

    Alan Pardew

We're looking at a top ten finish this season (we're level on points with Fulham and in good form), as well as at least a quarter final in Europe. Considering the disaster that has been this season, that would be pretty good going tbf.
  5. Chelsea would probably just have one of their on days when Hazard, Mata and Oscar all click and makes them look like one of the best teams in Europe.
  6. Wouldn't say that he had a shocker, but agree with the rest of this post.
  7. He played on for a couple of minutes after the injury happened as well. We desperately need him to be fit like, he's such a massive player for us. Our formation today didn't suit him, as both him and Tiote seemed to have been told to sit deep and pick it up from the CBs, but I thought you could still see his class, vision and importance for us during the time he was on the pitch today. One of my main gripes with Pardew is how he sees Cabaye playing for us. He's always said that he's our quarterback, that he wants him to sit deep and spray the ball about but he was at his very best last season when he pushed up into the final third. We could really do with him further up the pitch. His best position for me is between Tiote and Sissoko, basically a free role in midfield to link up with both the defence and attack. I think Chelsea played a similar system under Ancelotti (I may be wrong here, they've had too many managers lately), with three central midfielders, where one was the holding one (Tiote for us), one the box-to-box (Cabaye) and one attacking (Sissoko). Last season, and before we got Sissoko in, I really wanted Cabaye higher up the pitch, because we had no one (bar possibly Marveaux, who's been injured most of time here) who could link the midfield to attack, but since signing Sissoko, I'm happy with Cabaye dictating our play from a slightly deeper position.
  8. When I run FIFA, I'm going to move Europa League to Tuesday. Champions League Wednesday & Thursday - most of the CL clubs play Sunday anyway for TV so let them play Thursday, people will watch Champions League any night. I just don't like the idea of cramming all the Europa League games into one night, and they simply can't overlap with CL games or no one will care about them. IIRC, the quarter finals will be the first time that the CL teams play consecutive weeks this season, it surely would have been possible to fit the Europa League fixtures in when the CL teams aren't playing.
  9. IIRC, it was a canny move all the way from the defence as well.

  11. UEFA needs to sort themselves out and move this competition to Tuesdays/Wednesdays during the weeks when there's no Champions League games on. Would do wonders for the competition and its reputation.
  12. "Make no mistake!" "We know you like Talksport. That's why you're here, right?" :yao: I don't usually agree with Pardew, but he's spot on in that interview. Like that he says that he don't want an English team for the fans as well.
  13. Aye, the commentators in the Barcelona game mentioned that they've changed it in the Champions League this year.

Muslims recognise Jesus as a prophet I've no idea though tbh, I assume he's a muslim.
  15. Thanks to Taylor and Mapou he didn't get a sniff in either leg. Maybe it was because of his name and reputation (don't watch Italian football, and obviously not Russian either, so I haven't seen much of him since leaving Barca), but thought he threatened us throughout the game.
  16. Tonight I thought the crowd cheered as we won that corner, but seemed to realise rather quickly that 'Oh fuck, we're shite at corners'
  17. Part of the draw, the team that is picked first plays the first leg at home.
  18. Relegation fight is not over yet... Yes it is, we're fighting for a top half position now. I don't think so: Wigan with a game in hands and a home fixture with us, if we lose and Villa beat QPR we are back at 3 points above relegation. We need to get to 40 points anyway. ' When was the last time you looked at the table?

  22. Can't ever remember us having a goalkeeper playing it short as much as Elliot did today btw
  23. Aye, Eto'o was class tonight, much much better than last week.
  24. Think he played well out wide? Best I've seen from him. He's still better through the middle, though. But he's clearly our best option on the right until Hatem is back. Played that role perfectly today IMO, cut inside quite a bit, but with an attacking right back, that's just a good thing as it'll leave the full back with space. Shame Santon's delivery was cack today, but it'll work just as well with Debuchy there.
  25. http://www.uefa.com/uefaeuropaleague/season=2013/draws/index.html I would assume they would mention there if the semi's were drawn as well. I know the Champions League draw tomorrow is just for the quarters.
