Got to feel a bit sorry for Milan like, they were bloody terrific in the first leg but when Barca like they've done tonight, no one can stop them.
-
Fantastic from Xavi, Villa was always going to score there.
-
What a goal from Altintop
-
Tonight Messi and the rest of Barcelona have been brilliant, even by their standards.
-
That first goal is absolutely incredible, how the hell does he get such power on it from absolutely nothing?
-
Barca probably should tighten up on their right hand side in the second half, El Shaarawy's pace is lethal, especially with Dani Alves so far up the pitch.
-
1-1 in that other game. Both games now all square.
-
1-0 Schalke.
-
Fuck me, what a game so far!
-
Brilliant.

Lukaku pisses all over Torres, so it'll be a huge improvement for them if they keep Lukaku and sell Torres.

A player like Cissé is going to be caught off side fairly regularly, it's simply the way he plays. Someone (Ian W perhaps) said something similar about Hatem when he missed his chip against Anzhi, we can't have the applaud his wondergoals and then slag him off when it's not working, same goes for Cissé, he should be playing on the shoulder of the last man and take those gambles. Ronaldo is spot on as well like, we shouldn't be playing high crosses with Cissé in the box, keep them low, he's brilliant at attacking them.

The prime issue is whether Short will keep funding the losses, but FFP is now an issue for them because of the scale of those losses. The UEFA regulations theoretically require these to be €5M, but IIRC allow you to lose €45M over the next two seasons (2013/14 and 2014/15), as long as the owner covers it. Sunderland are already in line to be well over this amount. If they go down they will be in serious trouble. FFP only means anything if you're in Europe, don't they?
-
Never mind that, how about this little beauty from when he just got the job? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2072367/Martin-ONeill-wants-Sunderland-play-like-Barcelona.html

I thought that was the exact thing that FPP was supposed to stop. Not really, FFP is supposed to stop clubs doing what Chelsea, City and PSG have done. This sounds more like what say Sky or Barclays are doing for the PL (albeit paying much more for a worse product). At least that's my understanding of it, I might be of course be talking complete bollocks. It would be canny if it happened like, got the potential to be a very strong league.

No, TCD reckons that pass completion rate "tells the whole story".

Huge, huge game for us this like. Win this and the season is not the total catastrophe that we all thought we were looking at three months ago. Obviously this is a bit rich coming from me, but as Inochi said, if you are local and got nowt planned on Thursday, definitely make your way to SJP, who knows, it might be the last European game for us in quite some time.

I agree it was down to trying to make things happen but it was simply impatience on his side. Sometimes you have to play it simple if the pass isn't on. I told you just a couple of days ago that pass completion rate is a rubbish statistic, stop using it. It's not rubbish. If you're AM and ST can't consistently find a NUFC shirt, we will struggle to assert consistent pressure. especially at home to a side like Stoke. It really, really is as it doesn't take into account what types of passes that are being made. I'm sure someone like S. Taylor has a very high pass completion ratio, but how much of that consists of back passes to the keeper? It's simply not useful when talking about a creative player whose task it is to set up goals, Sissoko plays so so high up the pitch for us, an area that is crowded with opposition players (especially against Stoke), and his task is to find the decisive pass. Give me someone with a 40% completion rate whose passes consists of potential goal scoring opportunities more often than not than someone who'll play the safe pass in that position.

Perch Ahh, too slow

That free kick is so fucking good man, looks like the easiest thing in the world for him.
-
Of course he hasn't. Pulis is such a wanker, football needs to get rid of him. EDIT: Saying that, I don't like angry Cissé, and he shouldn't be acting like a petulant child. The happy smiley Cissé is much better

Best way to defend a lead against us would probably be to just keep conceding corners.
