And Adam Johnson instead of Young. Barton and Wilshere both given freedom to stay central or go wide when in possession to supply crosses for Rooney and Carroll in particular, with both Rooney and Johnson cutting inside. Neither Rooney or Johnson shy away from their defensive duties when the opposition's got the ball, allowing Barton and Wilshere to drift inside a bit more with Rooney and Johnson covering the wings.

Honourable mention to Lövenkrands vs Wolves as well. Obviously not for the finish, but for Barton's and Colo's work in midfield leading up to it. The way Barton holds off three men and then his run is fucking fantastic, as is Colos first touch and his through ball to Barton. Fantastic goal.

What are Ramires' supposed strengths? I've watched him all season now and I'm still not quite sure what it is he actually brings to the team. Seems to be invisible for half the game, then pops up around the 60th minute to remind me that he is still actually on the field. Might just be me like

Howay man Ronaldo, Tevez has been very good this season. Got to agree with Ketsbaias Shiny Head that Hernandez should be there, at least for young player of the year. Miles ahead of Coleman and Bale.

Did Piennar not travel with Spurs to Madrid? Or is he not registered for the CL? Cause surely it would have made more sense to stick him on instead of Jenas if Lennon is out and not have to move Bale to RW?

I just don't understand this mentality at all. If he's completely healed, surely it would just make sense to play him to bring his, the fans and the rest of the squads confidence up?
