Smith or Barton? f***ing hell. About as much chance of getting rid of either tbf. Difference is though that Barton can, if fit, do a job in the Premier League. Playing with Smith is like playing with ten players.

roughly a season and a half iirc, he came into the side i think under sven ousting kasper schemicheal and was no 1 until given arrived Yeah, sounds about right.

smith got an injury in jan (in fa cup i think) and never found his previous form after that which is a shame because i really like him tbh bit useless as a player but i like him none the less Smith turned shite long before January. He was decent in the first few games, but then I think that was just because of extremely low expectations of him. He managed to fool us (me) once again that he was decent, hard working holding midfielder, when in reality he was just sitting a couple of yards away from the back four and threw himself into a challenge every now and then.

In two minds about this. In a way, I'd think it was fantastic that we could give Krul and/or Forster first team football, but I'm really not sure whether Forster can make the step up from League 1 to Premier League or if Krul can make the step up from a season of bench duty and cup appearances.

We need to get rid of the one we are absolutely sure cannot be trusted to do a even half decent job in the Championship though.

Replace him with Klose then? Or go 4-4-2 with Özil and Müller on the wings.
