  1. Just watched the press conference, every time I see him I want him to take the job permanently even more. Talks a lot of sense, and it's so nice to have someone likeable as manager again. Surely we can't go back to Kinnear again after Shearer...?

    Nile Ranger

No, no, he capped a bobby and got nicked.
  3. magic, my new word of the day! gotta huge meeting at work in an hour and i'm gonna try and work in I will want an update after that meeting Like everyone else, I'm absolutely bricking it for this game. WITH Barton, Enrique and Oba I feel fairly confident that we'll win, without two or more of them, I won't get my hopes up.
  4. So it's shite then. Fuck.
  5. Just realised I've got my first game of the season when this is on
  6. Front is lovely, back is terrible!

    Barton Back

Fuck off, Barton is better than Messi, Torres and Kaka put together
  8. I wonder what odds I could've got for betting on Liverpool drawing 4-4 two games in a row against Arsenal and Chelsea What a fucking game.
  9. Fucking get in Arsenal Liverpool, and Benayoun especially, has looked class though. Fabianski needs to keep playing this well in the second half for Arsenal to get away with all three points.
  10. Not really, considering he's fighting for a place with Nicky Butt and Kevin Nolan.
  11. Frölunda in the Swedish second division in 2005. I think I should win this hands down.
  12. If we're going 4-3-3 then dropping Owen is ridiculous, he's by far the best suited player in our squad to playing in the hole. Lovenkrands in midfield won't happen either, and nor should it. I'd not be adverse to giving Smith a run but not as the holding midfielder, slap Guthrie there and let Smith play in one of the outside CM roles. I just wanted to fit Loven in I agree though. Guthrie would be better. Besides, we need more than 1 midfielder who can tackle Smith can tackle?
  13. i thought smith did well when he came on tbf Aye, he was decent enough (should have been booked for that tackle though). Guthrie is still twice the player Smith is and he's been our best CM this season, so he really didn't deserve to be dropped.
  14. You, sir, are absolutely, 100% spot fucking on with that post.
  15. Exactly, absolutely no need for it. But yeah, well done to all you miserable twats who would have been contempt with 17 back in December
  16. So, one draw and two losses in three (admittedly difficult) games, without us looking any better than we did before he came in, has anyone changed their mind? I haven't, I want him to stay on even more than I did before the Chelsea game. I'm really liking that he's changing things around on the field, and he's making the right substitutions at the right times (bar Smith coming on instead of Guthrie). It also feels so right seeing him on the touchlines, and he's talking a lot of sense in his pre and post match interviews. All in all, even though results haven't gone his way, which isn't all down to him, he is the right man for the job for me.
  17. The criticism Shearer is getting is unwarranted IMO. There's only so much you can do with a hamstrung squad. Agree. I'm loving that he's willing to try new things, as we were obviously going nowhere before he came in. Also like that he swaps and changes things during the games, he deserves a lot of credit for that.
  18. Joe man your hearts still bad, get back to hospital That seems more like the Allardyce way IMO with players being played well out of position.
  19. This is the first game this season where we might be able to play our best XI. Harper Beye Taylor* Bassong Enrique Barton Guthrie Jonas Owen Viduka Martins *Colo if injured. Won't be that though, Butt will definitely play, I can't see Duff being dropped and Barton and Enrique won't be (match)fit.
  20. Was it a good goal? Which team was it? Aye, it was a good goal actually! Volleyed it into the top corner. Was for AIK.
