  1. "Give Nile Ranger a chance ffs!"
  2. I like this a lot! Ya kidding right? I was taking the piss... no I really think it would work. Especially if Harper makes forward runs to support Owen.
  3. The avatar strikes back! Ah fuck. Sorry Tim. I also thought it was Rich
  4. You've quit already then? I've never been a real fan as I'm not Toon-based like
  5. I thought it was a fantastic atmosphere, as did the Swedish commentator. He kept going on about what a fantastic atmosphere it was. Loved us booing their players when they had the ball, really did seem to rally our players to close them down quicker and with more energy.

    Obafemi Martins

Aye, I wish he'd stop doing that, tbh. Leave that to Owen, he's good at controlling the ball and rarely gives it away. Reckon it's extra important now that he's carrying an injury that he focuses on working the flanks and making penetrating runs rather than wasting energy on dropping deep.
  7. Put Smith in for Butt and that team would be the closest to any chance we have the rest of the way this season. We went to complete shit when Butt went off and Smith moved in the middle. Butt knows how the play the role, Smith doesn't. For all his faults, Butt did what he was supposed to do yesterday, if you can forget all of his misplaced passes.
  8. Harper Beye Coloccini Bassong Duff Barton Butt Jonas Owen Viduka Martins I like Guthrie, but he was poor yesterday and I really want Barton back in the team, as he is without a doubt our best midfielder when in form (which he probably won't be, still reckon he's the best even when not match fit). Think we'll need Jonas to carry the ball for us, he'll help us take a bit of pressure off the defence. Might be a bit harsh on dropping Smith, thought he looked one of your best players yesterday, he even took a couple of shots, more than he did all of last year tbh.

    4-3-3

Which they have been for most of the season, tbf. We created more chances yesterday than we've had in a long time, and I would put that down to us having three "good" strikers on the field. Sure, they all missed a chance each, but I rather we keep playing them in that system and create chances throughout the 90 minutes (bar the last 10 when we looked knackered) than go back to 4-4-2 where we've looked clueless without creating anything.
  10. Locking the thread, as it's gone down a path that will end in flame wars and name calling. My original point still stands though.
  11. Bit flippant that Nixon.I know what it feels like,i've already experienced it twice, but never as a fully grown man... I know but its different with you Billy mate, Towelie is in another country. I walk through the city every day, read the Chronicle board every day, this club is the only real football I've known, I've gone on about Juve but they were not a tenth as prominent in my life as Newcastle, as a lad I only wanted Newcastle shirts no other teams. Room was Newcastle mad, In my short time I've seen us draw at the San Siro, and now I'm its likely we'll be playing Leeds next year. so basiclly you are in a city where the majority are going through the same thing ? doesn't that mean towelie should have it harder as he has to go through it on his own ? You think everyone in Newcastle is a newcastle fan? At least he can get away from it. I can get away from it? Did you even read the OP?
  12. Nixon, with no respect whatsoever, fuck off if you honestly think that. EDIT: I really don't want this to become another "you can't support NUFC as much if you aren't Newcastle based", so I'm really glad you told me to fuck off in that PM instead Nixon.
  13. It's what everyone at work/down pub/in the streets talks about though Mardraw...maybe pain is over emphasising a bit...but I have had urges to knock out these gloating cunts down here. Exactly. It's not even gloating for me over here, because most of them knows how much it means to me, and gloating would be about as much fun as kicking a dead rabbit. It's the fake "sympathy" that really does my head in.
  14. At least when you wake up tomorrow, you know that most of your friends, family and colleagues are going through the same pain as you. Aye, you'll get the odd mackem/glory hunting twat making fun of us, but you will always have someone there to back you up. If you can, try and take solace from knowing that you've got an entire city there to feel your pain. I really do wish there was someone who I could share the pain with, which of course is why I'm resorting to this place. I cannot explain how fucking empty I feel after todays result. I know that everyone I meet will be asking me the same questions, I won't be able to get away from it, and frankly, I've had it with answering them.
  15. I feel so bad right now. Couldn't watch the game live, just watched it recorded without knowing the result. I feel absolutely sick. I just don't know what to do. Was so nervous when the game started, so proud of the support we had, so proud to be part Geordie. Now, I'm looking forward to another week of knobcheesed fuckards asking me "How can Newcastle be so bad?". If you're really interested, look it the fuck up you twat. I know we're shite, and I know why, and I also know that you glory hunting Liverpool "fan" twat don't give two shits. [/rant]
  16. That's one of the bad things about living in Sweden, especially in a town like this where ice hockey is the King of sports. At least I'll be able to grab me a six-pack of Brown Ale on my way home from work. and then nip out for more at half time ? Nah man, you can't buy alcohol after 7 pm (6 in most places even) in Sweden unless you're at a bar. Good idea if you ask me. Might stop some cretenous behaviour. It doesn't though, it just forces you to buy more when you're at the store.

Nah man, you can't buy alcohol after 7 pm (6 in most places even) in Sweden unless you're at a bar. Exactly...that's why I'll have to grab the whole case at once So, where in Sweden are you at Towelie? Stockholm, you?

  19. I am trying to study for my exams...no chance.. Me too, just trying to do anything to pass time.
  20. We need to score first in this one though. Like Shearer said in the press conference, he don't want to sit after the game and said we played well for the last 30 minutes, we need to play well for the full 90. No more "at least he got the subs right", we need "he got the starting 11 right, and therefore we won the game". I think Jonas will start, fwiw.
