  1. From what I've seen of him, I'd say he's been at least as good as Woodgate was for us, especially taking fitness into account. i was half cut yesterday but there was a long punted ball up and he out muscled jo (i think) and was surrounded by a couple of players and he elected to take it on his chest and try and play it away reminded me of woodgate completely...fair enough the ball was nicked away from him but that he has the presence of mind and confidence to even try it says it all for me be devastated if he leaves Remember the situation, thought the exact same thing. Also another time towards the end, after Butt had made a good tackle in our box, the ball ended up with Bassong, facing our goal, with Saha putting pressure on him, and Bassong just completely outmuscled him to be able to turn and clear the danger. Lovely mixture of confidence, skill, power and awareness shown there.

  3. Sarper - 7 - Good save on that corner-chance, poor distribution though. Saylor - 7 - Looks twice as good as a RB than he does at CB. Foloccini - 7 - Solid Sassong - 8 - Terrific again, top class defender. My MOTM Jnrique - 8 - Another good game for him. Raylor - 6 - Quality deliveries, but not much more. Nutt - 6.5 - Credit where it's due, he did well today Kolan - 5 - Was our best player before the sending off. Shame he may or may not have lost us 2 points Duff - 5 - Ineffective, offered very little Smeobi - 4 - Shite. Pövenkrands - 6.5 - Had a good first half bar that chance, and ran his socks off the entire game. Jutierez - 5 - Never got into the game Oartins - 6 - Tried, but was never going to give us much playing as a lone striker Cughton - 7 - Understandable starting XI, took off both Duff and Ameobi
  4. I'm turning gayer for Bassong for every game.
  5. CHRIS Hughton admits that he is tempted to throw Nigerian pace ace Oba Martins straight back into the starting line-up for this weekend's league clash with Everton. The 24-year-old has not played since the 3-0 win at Portsmouth in December and underwent a hernia operation in Germany last month. But, having returned to full training during the two-week break, Martins could come into contention for a striking berth against the Toffees. "There's no doubt that there's a temptation to put Oba straight back into the starting line-up," coach Chris told nufcTV "But he's been out for a while and we'll have to assess what training he has done since he's came back. "But that's a nice problem to have and we'll see what happens come Sunday."

  7. Agree, could be a couple of truly epic games.
  8. Man U have only conceded 10 goals this season, or in other words, Oba Martins have scored 10% of the goals Man U has conceded this season! They are 88 minutes away from the European record now, I think. It was definitely something about 88 minutes away from some record.
  9. Welcome to the forum mate, we've got two other Everton supporters who are regular posters on here, so you'll fit right in. I certainly feel a lot more confident without Arteta in your team, that's for sure. Out of the two that you posted, I'd much rather you guys went with the first one. Fellaini is more of a DM than a second striker, isn't he? Thought Anichebe looked good against Villa, very strong and hard to get the ball from, like a good Ameobi. Jo was absolute wank when he was here when we played City, though I've heard he had a cracking game against Bolton for you lot. Think Colo might struggle against the physicality of Anichebe or Jo, depending on which one Bassong wants to have a quiet game. Haven't seen enough of either Gosling or Rodwell, but they both had good first halves against Villa IIRC, and they'll probably be up for it, and playing against Nicky Butt, they've got a very good opportunity to build some confidence For us, we are really hoping to see Martins, he's arguably been our most important player this season, and we've waited too long all ready for his come-back. Lövenkrands had a very good game against West Brom two weeks ago, but I'm not so sure Hughton will put Ameobi on the bench if Oba is fit.

    Ramos sounded out?

"Think of Arsene Wenger, throw in a bit of Alex Ferguson and mix it up with Jose Mourinho — and you get Ramos." Love how he says that, but doesn't give any examples of why he's like any of them Quality journalism, "I rate this manager (or I'm a deluded Spurs fan), so he has to be a mix of the three best managers in the world" mackems.gif
  11. Look at the way Scholes is absolutely dominating the midfield, it's a real joy to watch. Spreading passes out to Ronaldo, O'Shea, Park and Evra with such ease, it's incredible really.
  12. Why not play the lot. Geremi-Butt-cacapa-Smith. That scares me seeing that

  14. Can you pm the link to what COULD be the goal? http://www.nufc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/sub/ReserveAndYouth/0,,10278,00.html? thanks for absolutley nothing What do you want? You know we can't send illegal links, so why even ask for it? The shot itself was very similar to LuaLuas goal in the reserves last week I thought.

    Viduka on his way

Hardly surprising, we should see some good football from him now though, he usually plays well when looking for a new deal, doesn't he?
  17. Lets bump all our player threads on Saturday morning, just in case you're on to something. How about we do it on Sunday instead?
  18. mountain from a molehill yet again. Indeed, what a load of nonsense.
  19. Smith is captain for the reserves tonight though.
  20. Yeah, they must rate him. or everyone else in the same position is that bad ? Or he's highly rated?
  21. Cahill being out for you is a massive plus for us tbh. Do you know why he was wearing a black armband today btw?
