  1. [tin hat]I don't mind Wise.[/tin hat] It's Kinnear I want out.
  2. I really hope we start Carroll and Loven and then bring Martins on around 60-70 minutes in. I know he's never been useful as a sub, but it'll be a massive confidence boost having him on the pitch, and hopefully Loven will have ran their defenders tired. Harper Staylor Colo Bassong Jose Rtaylor Nolan Butt Duff Carrol Loven Sadly, I can't see Ameobi losing his place
  3. Interstingly, most of those can be traced back to our previous Owners/Chairman. Interestingly, most of them are Ashley signings (Cacapa, Geremi, Viduka, Smith).

Yay for getting rid of a player who doesn't want to be here, and getting a player who does with similar end product. But no, you're right. Let's get this mass suicide going, shall we? You go first. I'm not doing it, I'm just waiting for the rest of the forum to do it.

  7. Stick to watching South Park. Great point. http://animals.nationalgeographic.com/staticfiles/NGS/Shared/StaticFiles/animals/images/800/great-white-up-close-sw.jpg There, go and have a wank.
  8. He tried, didn't he? Also, on deadline day in our situation, showing intent isn't at the top of our priorities, staying up is. Michael Johnson would have done little to nothing to help us do that, yet now everyone are certain that we're going. Had he signed, I bet you that the tone on the forum would have been completely different. What point are you trying to make? That people are nigh on slicing their wrists, but the very same people would have been very happy if we had signed a player who might not even play any more this season. Dear God. It's not the player, it's the intent. Also, I don't think we would have been in for him if it was unlikely he would play. So, that intent would have kept us up? I'd say it would have had a better chance of doing so than not bothering at all. By the time he returns from injury, I would expect Guthrie to be fully match fit. I wouldn't want us having to play another half fit player for three games over two fully fit players who has played before and know eachother when we're in this relegation battle. I'm not saying that I didn't want us to sign Johnson, btw, but I don't think he would have been the difference between staying up and going down (like many seem to be making out).

  12. Even one that might be out injured the rest of the season?
  13. But we've played the games so far with Michael Owen, Habib Beye, Danny Guthrie, Charles N'Zogbia, Shay Given, Joey Barton to an extent, and still hover above the drop zone on goal difference. The squad is now weaker, those players are now either gone or crocked and the fixtures now get harder. West Brom on Saturday is the biggest game we've played since Pompey at home in 1992 imo. Michael Owen has been beyond terrible since declining his new contract, Carroll has looked decent, and proved that he can score goals. Beye we will miss, no doubt. Guthrie has been replaced by Nolan, which in a relegation fight probably will be an upgrade. N'Zogbia is massively overrated and I'd rather have Duff on the wing than him. Shay will be missed, but if we get relegated, it won't be because we sold him. Barton has played, what, three games? Add to this that Martins is on his way back, and that we've got better cover now than we did before January and Nicky Butt away from our starting eleven in a few weeks and I can't understand how anyone can be certain that we're going down. Aye Barton's played three games and we won two of them. Not far off the same stats for Charles N'Zogbia on the left wing as it happens. How the fuck is Nicky Butt away from the line up in a few weeks? Guthrie and Nolan Guthrie who's probably out for the season? Regardless, if you think JFK is doing to drop Butt, you're going to be sorely disappointed. Physioroom has him to return 22nd of February. Apologies of that's "wide of the mark" like.
  14. We would have gotten an inexperienced, injured player with no return date, who is also a rumoured alcoholic and has played three times this season. Indeed, he would have saved our season and kept us up

  16. Points are what matter. We are two points off bottom and 19th and one point off 18th. Blackburn in 18th have a game in hand. We may not go into the drop zone until the last day but that's when it counts. If we don't beat West Brom we are up shit creek without a paddle. Have a look at our March fixtures. Can you see us scoring any points? We haven't won for eight games! Indeed, points are what matters, and right now, we've got more than three teams, and are above two more. We haven't won for eight games, ironically, they are the eight games we've been without Martins, who is now returning from injury.

  18. He never stood a chance, the volume and signings that would have made people praise him was impossible. (Sorry, but it's could have.) Utter bollocks. In what way? I know you're an intelligent poster, so what would have been 'good enough'? And also, how would that compare to what a premiership club has ever done in a January window? Premiership survival would have suited me. I realise that was a bit much to ask for. Are we relegated then? Shit, I take it all back. So because we're not mathematically gone now, he's done enough? Dear me. Dear me, you're the one saying we're pretty much relegated.
  19. I would just like to say again to all the people saying nines and tens, that we aren't in the relegation zone, despite having gone over a month without our most important player. And again, Michael Johnson (the player everyone seems to be gutted about us not getting) has barely played this season.
  20. im not fully up on the other transfers (so correct me if if needs be) hull - bought jimmy bullard and a defender we rejected. we bought nolan and a versatile defender/midfielder who is decent. west brom - just loaned a midfielder? not major strengthening. stoke - james beattie and etherington. they've done well enough but they'll still go down imo. pompey - sold their best 2 players for a s*** load of money and didnt replace either well enough. barely spent anything. blackburn - bought diouf. lost derbyshire. not too good either. sunderland - lost diouf, chimbonda and chopra and got ben haim. poor. boro - swapped mido for king. meh. like i say, if i've missed anyone fill the names in, but that doesnt look to me like they've done much better than us. if we get a few players back then we'll be fine. They also dont have their 14 players out with injury especially to those in key positions. They also have just released their best goalkeeper have they. Stop comparing us to other sides, it is quite clear we are not in equal positions. Surely the fact that we've got all these injuries and still aren't in the drop-zone is a positive?
  21. if you project current form, we go down. How can they be more in the shit than that? They are, and they haven't got their two main strikers out, the best one which will return either this or next week.
  22. Bollocks. Do people really think that Michael Johnson would have kept us up and that we're doomed without him?
  23. It isn't a total failure. But it's not far from it. Thoroughly underwhelming.
