fyp FYP. Fyp. FY... Oh fuck
-
I was supposed to be at uni at 9 this morning. I couldn't get any sleep last night though, so obviously overslept this morning. Now I'm just too nervous to even be arsed to go buy my books so I could do some catching up.

Fucking hell, this is going to be a long day
-
Fucks sake Barcelona! Lost me £75, you bunch of cunts!
-
Horrible dive from Rossi there

Can we 100% say that Taylor and Nolan were Kinnear's signings or Wise's? No we can't, but I feel that they would be the type of players Kinnear would sign.
-
A fucking shambles of a manager, couldn't do a thing right. Embarrassed himself and the club on several occasions during his spell here.

That'd be your ex missus by now then.

You've put it much better than I've tried to for the past hour. Thanks I appreciate that football should be played to be won, as opposed to not being beaten. However, Football is a sport, not an entertainment business - fans want to win, not to be entertained. Your spot on it goes back to that ridiculous quote we got tagged with: "we'd rather lose 4-3 than win 1-0" of course we'd rather win, but Chelseas weren't even playing to win they were playing not to get beat, particulalrly in the first leg. Chelsea are good enought to play a bit of football and still win, if I was a season ticket holder at Stamford Bridge I'd be completely underwhelmed by what I saw tonight. They literally had two banks of five in front of the keeper for large parts of the game, is that really playing to win? Spot on tactics in the first game, gave them a great chance to win it today. Early goal scored, they're winning at this point. They reckoned the best chance of them to get the win was by parking the bus, and they really couldn't have been closer to being successful, against the team that is arguably the best on the planet.

Darren Fletcher - Should he be able to play in the final?

He's been terrific this season, but I can't help but thinking that he'd be absolute s**** if he ever moved to another team. you mean when comes here don't you Yeah, pretty much :-[ I used to think he's the type of player that seemed likely to end up here, but the way he's improved and the way we've declined, I can't see it happening now. -

Spot on! I hate to say it, but I love watching Man U at their best. Far far better than watching Barcelona and Arsenal. I agree. Not that there's anything wrong with Barcelona and Arsenal at their best either, btw.

Of course they knew the craic and all that, I just think that the team that scores most goals should go through, no matter where they do it. It's not like it's working any way, as it's meant to encourage attacking football away from home. Teams are now happy to sit back and hope to nick a goal, there really isn't much more attacking going on away from home these days. Perhaps Chelsea should have been a bit more adventurous in Barcelona rather than shutting the game down? Worked for Man U last year, and was extremely close to work for them this year.

Absolutely nothing wrong with trying to defend a lead, especially not against a team like Barcelona. Again, I'm not trying to apply this to tonights game, as I'm happy that Barcelona went through, and I only managed to see the last 10 or so minutes.
-
First of all: Congratulations to Barcelona, throughout the season, they've been the best team in the tournament and thoroughly deserves to be in the final, and I'm glad they knocked Chelsea out. However, I think it's a bloody insult to football that this rule exists. It doesn't make any sense at all, how two draws makes one team go through is just laughable. For those saying that the away team would just defend throughout the game, well fair play to them if they pull it off. Football is about defending just as much as it about attacking, and while many will disagree with me here, I really don't think a team that favours either of them should be rewarded. I could agree with it if they started with the away goal rule in Extra Time, as that would make up for the home team getting to play 30 minutes more on their home ground.

12 players? We still wouldn't win :-[

Good point, but I suppose allowing a referee to cancel a red card under their own steam is a bit different from allowing an 'appeal'. And who knows what sort of direct or indirect pressure refs would start to come under if managers and clubs knew that they could reverse their decisions after the game? It works in the premiership, don't see any reason why it wouldn't work it the champions league. -

Prior yellows, I agree. Ridiculous how easy it can be for a player to miss the final because of that rule. Sending offs is a different thing altogether though, IMO. Fletcher should be allowed to appeal the decision, he shouldn't have been sent off yesterday, and shouldn't be punished for someone elses mistake, just because we don't like the team he's playing for. -
Agree. Fletcher has really grown as a player this season, used to think he was a complete waste of space, but he's gotten better and better this season, and especially in the last few games he's been absolutely terrific. Don't think the challenge warranted a sending off, especially as he did get some of the ball. Penalty yes, but it wasn't a clear enough goal scoring opportunity to warrant a straight red IMO.

the way both teams have played recently i'd dispense with the 90mins and go straight to the coin. The coin toss would end in a draw. aye, we're both that crap, given the choice of heads or tails, they'd choose hearts and we'd go spades.
