He didn't even have a bad game, he just didn't have a good game. Showed his qualities a fair few times, his pass with the outside of his boot there right towards the end was absolutely sublime for example. Wish we'd go for Advocaat, with him bringing Arshavin, when we get our new owners and Zenit's domestic season is over and they've been knocked out of the CL.

Can see Kinnear dropping Martins when Owen returns, getting him into that first category.
-
He was absolutely brilliant against Real Madrid. Best player on the pitch in that match. Was going to say. Had a bad game today, but he was brilliant in the last one. Zenit have been very unlucky to only have one point after these three games.

fuck me!!! that save he made from Ireland's volley was a thing of absolute beauty!!! that save should be used as an example when training young keepers. one of the best I have ever seen Indeed, deserved to be a match winning save. Sublime volley from Ireland, just got the right curve on it, but Given did extremely well to get to it.

Geremi is as much a defender as he is a midfielder tbh, so moving him down to RB and Martins to LW is pretty much the same as substituting a forward for a defender.
-
They looked dangerous on the counter a few times, they've got some frightening pace in their team, but seemed to lack that quality. They're a bit hit and miss, they will play fantastic in some games but won't show up to others. Ireland has looked good this whole season, been very impressed with him. They also missed Petrov, who is a class act.

Outstanding today, hardly put a foot wrong.
-
Should he fuck, Owen and Martins are both far superior strikers, both should be starting when fit, which they both should be on Saturday or Tuesday.

Give over man, he wasn't that bad at all. Never a winger, tbh.

Mixed feelings, would've taken 2-2 after being ten men and 1-0 down after 10 minutes, but we could so easily have won, and three points would have been a massive achievement. Feel that we shouldn't have defended quite that deep towards the end, even with ten men. Colo man of the match, he was simply outstanding. Duff and Given did very well too.
-
We're extremely lucky to be level, had we not been, no one would've said that we've been playing good. Even though we're ten men, when we're a goal down at home, we shouldn't be going all out defence. We've had one good passage of play, that was for the Duff chance, other than that, we've struggled to string two passes together and haven't created anything. EDIT: Agree about Coloccini, by the way, he's been our best player by a mile.

We've been fucking shite, but just like against Everton, somehow, we're in this. Someone please teach Shola the fucking offside rule and tell him you can't come in with your elbows raised when going for a header.

I reacted to that part aswell.. who is not dedicated? f*** off Owen if thats you.. Has Owen showed anything but dedication this season like? I think it was a poor attempt by me to sound like all the others around here complaining about owen and his dedication. Sorry.. should have added a to it.. I do not for a second think its owen. Fair enough, got me to bite

Baffles me how Carroll makes the bench ahead of Ranger. Both are reserve team players, difference is that Ranger's been scoring for fun at that level lately while Carroll have been injured.
-
Expected line up, tbh. Still no Gonzales? Thought he was supposed to be back for this one. Geremi should have been CM with Guthrie and N'Zogbia on the wing.
-
Martins nearly got another goal in that game from another Guthrie-corner.
-
First they go after the same players as we do, now they want to drive their owners out the same way we did? Taking the piss, tbh

"Oba Martins is way ahead of what was his scheduled return following his knee injury," said Kinnear. "He will start for us tonight and I will monitor just how long he plays. "He has trained very well in the last couple of days and, while he has yet to play for me, I know all about his track record and we are looking to him to provide the spark for us tonight."
-
Getting really nervous about this game now. While it's a massive boost that Oba's back, it's a set back that Jonas is out. Remember how well they linked up against Manure, can't wait to see that again. Our starting XI against the mackems should be very strong if we get both Jonas and Owen back.

One word: continuity. That is one word used to describe the goals flowing in. Basically, what i meant was, first Allardyce and then Keegan (when he first came back) tried just about every defensive permutation possible, and shipped girls like water. Keegan then picked four, stuck with it and we ended up getting five clean sheets in eight games, or something like that. We haven't had a settled backline this season either, be it through injuries or whatever. Looking forward to getting Beye back, got to say.
