    Kevin Keegan

I have to say I'm totally disappointed with this decision, I really thought Mort and Ashley would have more intelligence and for once put the club in good standing obviously not!.

    Nailed on Mourinho?

From now on you need to get a sense of humor!
  3. Getting an unfancied French side to the CL final and losing to arguably the best manager in the world good enough? Is it? I'd hate to think we were hiring a manager off one excellent cup run. Group stage PSV 1–2 Monaco Monaco 4–0 AEK Athens Deportivo 1–0 Monaco Monaco 8–3 Deportivo Monaco 1–1 PSV AEK Athens 0–0 Monaco Knockout stage Lokomotiv Moscow 2-1 Monaco Monaco 1-0 Lokomotiv Moscow Quarter-finals Real Madrid 4-2 Monaco Monaco 3-1 Real Madrid Semi-finals Monaco 3-1 Chelsea Chelsea 2-2 Monaco Final Monaco 0-3 Porto -------------------------------------------------------------------- Great achievement but is all the hype really coming because of that? He jumped ship when Monaco were 15th after being there 16 months and took an excellent Juventus squad with plenty of top players out of Serie B, he left them after falling out over transfers or something. Like I've said, I'm not knocking the bloke because I don't know that much about him, I'm guessing some on here who are jumping on the bandwagon don't know that much about him either, I'm approaching his appointment with an open mind but I'd like someone to tell me what is so good about him. See, im personally behind this appointment because of what he has already achieved in such a short career. Although it can be argued that he hasnt acheived a geat deal with Juve becasue of the talent of players at his disposal, the bottom line is that he did achieve his goal and was able to use his skill as a manager to forge a team that won, it showed that he previous achievement at Monaco werent fluke. There is a big gamble with this appointment, but itwouldbe an appointment whichi would support to the end on the basis of pure ambition that it would show, to employ and young well reknowned manager who has a reasonalbe record so far. It wouldnt be an appointment which would be reactive to any problems that we have, but rather one which is pro active. He is a man which a limit cant be put, either achievemnt wise or career length wise. The same cant be said for Houllier who hasnt achieved great success in the CL, with either Liverpool or Lyon (QF). houllier is also a candidarte that doesnt tick all the criteria. To summarise, i basically think that it would be appointment which no one could really scrutinze too much, if he was to get the job and suceed we would be onto a long term winner and the sky is truly the limit, if he fails, i dont believe that the board can be criticized for his appointment beucase they showed a good level of ambition in trying to sign one of brighest young managers in the game. Is it possible to come 3rd with monaco, 1st with juve and get a CL final with Monaco purely by luck? There is a level of competence there which shows that he is a capable manager. I remember watching that game against Chelsea, if I remember correctly one of his players got sent off but instead trying to keep the score 1-0 he sent on an attacking player, I think it was Morientes! and end up winning the game. there's no doubt he likes to play attacking football
  4. No fucking thanks! time to move on, Keegan had his day here and it isn't going to come back again with him, he lost the plot at Man City and with National team and he's been to long out of the game now to be any good, time for you guys to come back down to earth and stop dreaming about the good old days and far as Keegan/Shearer I think there would be to much clashing of personality's to the detriment of the team.
  5. I really don't know how you can say Enrique is slow he looked to me he can turn the speed on when needed, okay his positioning wasn't that good sometimes but he stills needs to adjust to the Premiership and I'm sure he will be one of better defenders.

    Alan Smith

That was the only decent thing that happened in the game yesterday, Smith getting sent off, means he won't be in midfield for those 3 games.
  7. God I hope not! this would be a big mistake thinking you can go to the good old days it's time to move on.
  8. What a terrible performance from the guys, Taylor, Enrique and Zoggs are about the only ones who had a decent game Given his distribution of the ball was absolute shit why does he not just give it to the defenders and let them build up play, I was watching Enrique asking for the ball and Given just hoofs it up only for it to go to the opposition apart from his stops in goal he was shit. Fucking Smith the guy's fucking useless worst player in a Black&White shirt the only good thing he did was get himself kicked off and now he won't play for three games. We need to go Foreign with the new Manager if we have to go British then at least go for Mowbray at West Brom.
  9. I know, but I hate the negativity in this thread. Or in this forum in general. Who knows, maybe Manure has an odd day or something. Have some faith. Okay smart arse.
  10. No way we are going to walk all over Man U 3-0 to us
  11. Jesus Ridz your becoming a wild boy lately with all this swearing.
  12. I'd definitely take Jol over Redknapp anyday.
  13. garth

    If it's Redknapp?

Did the news just reach down under? Hey I've only just woke up.
  14. garth

    If it's Redknapp?

I fucking hope not!, if that's the case we should have kept Sam until summer then.
  15. Harry Redknapp would be a sideways step if Ashley is serious about getting us into the top 4 elite then he better come up with someone better than Harry Fucking Redknapp.
  16. Should be interesting who sits with Mort or Ashley at the Manchester game.
  17. Yeah right! in your dreams maybe.
  18. Mowbray would be top shout if we have to go British, still prefer some one like Houllier myself.
  19. Did he not help us sign Owen as well. And look where that got us, injury prone, cost us a fortune and got fuck all in return. Yeah right!
  20. As much as I liked KK and the job he did, I think it would be a mistake as someone said earlier he's been out of the game to long and has lost his zest for the game and as for Shearer if he really wanted to manage then he would have started by now and I think he is enjoying the TV life to much these days.
