He looked like he half expected it. If Rooney had have missed you'd have seen a much bigger reaction from him.

If Donovon and Dempsey don't play very well then I don't believe USA have any chance of getting any result tomorrow.I think if you had even a marginally stronger defence then I would give you a much better chance but your defence is way too frail to handle England at this moment.

There's no excuses for not beating USA tomorrow. They have a good morale but their defence is pretty awful, and I don't know if Onyewu is starting but he's lacking serious match practise.If Dempsey and Donovan don't have blinders then there's no chance of a positive result for USA.

Really? I've only watched the 2nd and England have looked uncomfortable. I know he's made a lot of changes but the passing is very bad at times, but no injuries is most important.

Am I wrong in thinking Carroll's best attribute is his heading ability? I'm pretty sure a fair chunk of his goals were from headers and they weren't easy ones either. You say Carroll's flicks ons don't lead to many goals, but we were playing in a league where we had possession of the ball most of the time which meant we weren't simply kicking it up to Carroll like we probably will be a lot next season.

The quality of our squad was not the reason we got relegated though. Our current squad may be good enough to stay up without any addition atall, no one knows yet really. It wasn't a reason? Poor management alone wouldn't get Chelsea relegated would it?

We need better than Lovenkrands, come on. He's obviously not going to be 5th choice striker but we need at least 2 better strikers than him if we're to stay up. The squad we have now is worse than the one we had when we were relegated, which means we need to strenghen in the areas we are weakest, and strikers is one of those areas.
