Fucking hell. Carver really doing his outmost to gather some hatred towards himself this week.
  3. Guess this is in another thread by now but can't find it. http://t.co/PlhFZczsNl
  4. There wasn't the false ceiling of the top of the league being locked in, in the 90's. What is enjoyment as a fan ? Watching a game and hopefully winning more of those than losing I reckon. IMO it is the fact that it is not a real competition anymore that makes the mediocrity position feel locked in more than any other factor, the current NUFC approach may make it feel more so, but it ain't the root cause, again IMO. Sorry but that's bullshit. It is very much a real competition, especially if you're the 19th richest club in the world despite trying to shrink yourself.
  5. Even if you think this is where the club should be at, the mere thought of accepting a place in some sort of set order contradicts every inch of enjoyment in being a fan.
  6. They'll probably wait until the summer as we've already checked and apparantley there are no managers out there.
  7. We've had a squad good enough to be challenging the top 6 between 2011 and 2014.
  8. For me it's now more a fight for the preservation of the aspects I loved. In it's current semblence, this club does not provoke any feeling of joy or excitement more than any other company, it's only a distant memory of something that was a huge part of my life. Like many have said, this place and the near ideological battle in trying to inform people who don't get it is the only thing keeping me around. Games, goals, signings etc. feel as irrelevant to me as they do to the people running the club. What irritates, fascinates and scares me is the sheer cynicism behind it all. It's so carefully orchestrated, with the misleading, the propaganda, the dismantling of the local press, the ticket pricing, the outsourcing. In a way, we're just an expression of what's going wrong with football in general. Like many others, again, my interest in the entire game has decreased because of our fate. At the same time, there's something really unfair about it. A market economy requires legislation to avoid compromising with certain values. Football clubs are social institutions, they're as important to society and to the community as national parks or other cultural symbols, the difference being that national parks and museums, or whatever, receive protection from commercial exploitation of this magnitude.
  9. This is the difference. Lerner seems to have forgotten about Villa, Ashley is getting himself worked up over his murderous tenure here.
  10. The last two window's have been hard work for Charnley in terms of trimming the bill. Remember how he fought like hell to get Yanga and Hatem out in August. He's doing brilliantly.
  11. A year on the same question seems to be lingering.
  12. This. Pardew wanted Neil Taylor.
  13. We're back to keeping the squad tight, making any European miscalculation virtually impossible to manage. The much triumphed strengf in defft is history.
  14. Seems he put his stamp on them for the first time today. After all the patronising bullshit, serves quite a few right. Loved the meltdown when everyone was out of position towards the end.

John Anderson is such a f***ing moron. Like most ex-players, completely liberated from any analytic ability.

His quotes . This is going to be painful.
  17. No that's Glenn Murray. Bolasie is at left-back now with Martin Kelly taking the role of Santon as a central midfielder. Forget about what it looks like to the naked eye.
  18. Ryder taking over January salesman duty in abscence of Pardew.
