Yes. Doesn't make Burundi day less admirable though. Just one player and he's new to the club. Brilliant.

Problem is Bale is going to get in behind him as well.

But Revillere is still at Lyon despite them getting Bisevac from PSG. At least that's something.

Pardew said the other week that we're strong in the wide areas so I don't think we'll be going for Johnson, even though I'd love for us to do that. I think his potential is massive, he just made the mistake of signing for the one club where no young player will ever be able to develop.

Gaston Ramirez to Southampton, £11.8m accepted. Decent player, not sure if he's cut out for the Premiership though. Seen him on a few occasions and been impressed with some parts of his game, has a beast of a left foot on him. Thought he looked a bit slow and maybe not dynamic enough for the Premier Leauge. Also listed to BBC WFPI where Tim Vickery, who's seen loads of him, said he didn't think he'd suit the Premier League at all.

I fucking love supporting this club right now. We're doing football "the right way". We're not spending our way to the top. We've been playing wonderful football with a very, very likeable set of players. We have loads of youngsters coming through. Everything from Burundi Day, to Adam Campbell singing songs about the other players when he's on the bench, to the club tweeting back at Alan Brazil. As much as I loved the times under Sir Bobby (still very nostalgic and dreamy about 01/02 and 02/03), this period, last season and everything good that surrounds the club at this moment, has something else to it. This period is so enjoyable, probably even more so because it follows from a period of complete darkness and fear for the future existence of NUFC. Just wanted to put it out there.

Yes, Rennes. I specifically remember we were linked to Albin Ebondo of Toulouse and M'Bia, but in the end signed Nolan and Ryan Taylor at a much lower price. The masses were displeased. It was another event in that depressing January where we lost N'Zogbia and Given. Marseille signed him for twelve million euro, anyway, back when we had money. I don't think he was ever worth that personally, so it was good to stay away. "We've put in two bids of £5m each" "If I can sell Enrique..." :kinnear: :kinnear:

Not that mental like, he could play a part in Europe. But to think we'll rely on him in January when the Demba's might go away is mental. I still think he'll play a part this season. Same goes for Remie Streete when he gets back to fitness. I'd have RB over striker any day of the week though. I'd rather we struggled up front for a few games than having to put up with footballphobic hoof-ambassador all season.

Agree. Has been coming for a few weeks. Will definately boil down to that.
-
Hatem needs to be as free as possible in the last third. Playing three CMs behind him would enable that. I think he'll be usel differently in different games, and rightly so.

West Ham agree fee in region of £15m with Liverpool for Andy Carroll

Only problem with all of this 4-3-3 ecstasy is that Pardew pretty much has confirmed he won't be using Demba at LW this season.

Belgium are going to win the World Cup in the next 12 years. Every other good player seems to come out of there.
-
Also, if we manage to get an attacking right back (Debuchy or similar), we can have two full backs pushing on with the new RB and Santon bombing forward and Anita/Tioté able to cover up. I think this signing might mean that Pardew wants to play someone in the hole behind Cissé and Ba. Ben Arfa presumably.
-
I'm thinking Anita sitting deeper with Tioté, allowing Cabaye to put in more Stoke-esque performances. I'm also thinking Anita doing most of the passing out of defence into Cabaye or Hatem. Fucking exciting.
-
OR: Pardew recognize that we'll be very flexible and able to adapt several different systems and formations if we have different types of players. Maybe he realizes that this is something that this signing enables us to play Anita with both Cabaye and Tiote, either one of them etc. We now have three very capable CMs, that's just beautiful to me. We looked brilliant with Guthrie sitting next to Tioté behind Cabaye last season. We looked brilliant with Jonas next to Tioté behind Cabaye last season. We'll be brilliant with this lad next to Tioté this season. If Pardew is serious about a more possession based game, this signing is terrific.

Definately won't be signed in time for Saturday.

Just decided on my team after making changes for the third time. Krul Lescott Hangeland Tomkins Marveaux Ramires Hazard N'Zogbia Torres © Agüero Cissé -
If we know Pardew well enough he'll play Ryan Taylor ahead of him for 2 months no matter what.
